As a Treating Engineer for Bell Lumber and Pole, you will play a pivotal role in our Bellingham Treating Plant by providing support and expertise to the treatment process that our poles undergo. This role contributes directly to the organization's success to ensure we are providing a quality product to our customers that will last for decades. If you are a detail-oriented, safety-minded individual who loves to learn new things, then this role is for you!\nAs a Treating Engineer, you will:\nCorrectly and completely process the paperwork associated with the treating plant, including but not limited to; treating reports, pesticide application reports, kiln reports, daily clean-up reports, drippage reports, charge tallies, oil ordering POs and timesheets.\nOperate the transfer deck to move treating charges in and out of the cylinders, kilns, and loading bays.\nChain and Un-chain the treating charges properly.\nAssist in the loading and unloading of treating charges and kiln charges.\nOperate the treating system in both automatic and manual modes.\nOperate the block dissolver and mix system.\nOperate the boilers and kilns.\nKeep the plant office and the plant area clean, neat and well organized.\nApply treating solution to treated poles that are re-framed or repaired.\nTransfer oil and treating solution between tanks properly.\nTest the treating solution for specific gravity and pentachlorophenol content.\nQualifications:\nEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent.\nExperience: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Pesticide applicator’s license.\nMust possess basic math skills.\nMust be able to operate a PC.\nMust successfully complete Bell Lumber & Poles hazardous waste management training.\nMust have legible handwriting.\nMust be able to use various office equipment.\nMust be able to safely ascend and descend ladders.\nMust be able to walk and or stand for extended periods of time.\nMust be able to count precisely and accurately and to record tallies correctly.\nShould have good communication skills.\nShould be able to work supervised and unsupervised equally well.\nKnow and understand all MSDS sheets for chemicals involved in the treating process and/or used in the treating plant area.\nMust be able to properly use and maintain all PPE required for the job.\nBenefits:\nIn addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including:\nHealth, dental, and vision insurance (with HRA and FSA)\n401(k) with company match\nShort and long-term disability insurance\nLife insurance\nPaid holidays and generous paid time off\nProfessional development opportunities\nEmployee assistance and employee/community hardship programs\nBell Lumber & Pole is an equal opportunity employer.\nBell Lumber & Pole is proud to be an equal-opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
