In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-scale bare metal server environments that underpin critical cloud services. You will drive infrastructure standardization, enhance operational efficiency through automation using Python and Ansible, and ensure the security, performance, and scalability of physical server platforms. Working within an Agile and DevOps environment, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor technical specialists, and contribute to the delivery of innovative, resilient, and future-ready infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate possesses strong Linux administration expertise, extensive datacenter operations experience, and a passion for automation and continuous improvement.\nKey Responsibilities\nInfrastructure Standards & Evaluation Implement and standardize our physical server infrastructure (bare metal) solutions to ensure a scalable, reliable, and high-performance foundation for our cloud services. \nEvaluate the technical requirements and feasibility of incoming bare metal requests, ensuring optimal resource allocation and alignment with our standards. \nImplement and maintain robust security hardening for bare metal servers through advanced configuration management, access controls, and encryption. \nAssess plan and coordinate critical software and firmware updates, guiding the team on security patches and performance enhancements. \n\nAutomation & Operational Excellence Develop and implement the automation of repetitive tasks using scripting (Python, Bash) and automation tools (Ansible) to streamline operations and enhance consistency. \nConfigure, monitor, and optimize the health, and performance of cloud computing physical servers (such as HPE, DELL, Cisco, Supermicro, etc.). \nTroubleshoot and resolve complex software issues, hardware failures, kernel panics, and system performance degradation. \nEnsure all bare-metal deployments comply with regulatory requirements and internal governance policies. \nMaintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations and procedures to empower the team and ensure operational continuity\n\nLeadership & Collaboration Mentor and provide technical guidance to a team of two technical support specialists in a dynamic, agile environment. \nCollaborate closely with vendors and internal teams to deliver efficient support solutions and contribute to cross-functional problem resolution. \n\nCritical Qualifications\nDegree in Computer Science or Information Science\n5 to 10 years of technical and operation experience in IT\nStrong knowledge of physical server hardwareand data center management\nAdvanced Linuxknowledge (medium to high level)\nExperience building and maintain Ansible playbooks (including Ansible tower)\nServer hardware and firmware management tools:HPeOneView \nHPe OneView Global Dashboard\nDellEMCOpenManage\nDellEMC SupportAssist Enterprise\nCiscoIntersight\n\nPython/API (intermediate to advance)\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.\nStrong time management skills and work ethic to manage multiple accountabilities.\nAbility to build relationships and work effectively with internal players and vendors\nEmbrace change within the same team\nAvailable to work 24/7 on call (rotating schedule) \nAdequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.\nAdditional Information:\nPosition Type: Management\nJob Status: Regular - Full Time\nJob Location: Canada : Quebec : Montreal\nWork Arrangement: Hybrid\nApplication Deadline: 11/13/2026\nFor work arrangements that are ‘Hybrid’, successful candidates must be based in Canada and report to a set Bell office for a minimum of 3 days a week.
