We're a team of developers, designers, marketers and entrepreneurs that companies turn to when they want to take a software product from conception to creation.\nAbout the job\nWe are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep React and front-end engineering experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience that closely aligns with our current tech stack, particularly React, Redux, TypeScript, Vitest, Playwright, and GitHub Actions.\nThis is a unique opportunity to work alongside an experienced team that excels at building quality client products at scale. You'll own features end-to-end, raise the bar on engineering practices like testing, CI/CD, code review, and secure delivery, and help client teams build patterns that keep their products maintainable as they grow. This position reports to an Engineering Team Lead.\nKey Responsibilities Include:\nOwning feature development end-to-end in React applications, from application design through implementation and release\nEstablishing and improving automated quality gates, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing\nLeading code reviews to raise code quality, consistency, and maintainability across client codebases\nAuthoring and maintaining GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines for build, test, lint, and security checks\nAdministering GitHub repositories, including dependency management, permissions, branch protection, and overall repo hygiene\nPartnering with client teams to harden security and quality posture through dependency updates, vulnerability remediation, and static analysis\nBuilding reusable patterns and foundations, such as shared components and design system integrations, so products stay scalable and safe to evolve\nMentoring and pairing with engineers, including client and distributed teams, on modern React and front-end practices\nCommunicating technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders\nLearning and adapting quickly across a variety of technologies, tools, and client platforms, including enterprise systems you may not have worked with before\nPerforming other duties as assigned\nQualifications\n5+ years of software development experience\nDeep experience with React and Redux (or comparable state management), including application design\nStrong TypeScript experience, including integrating front ends with REST APIs and backend platforms\nExperience with React unit and integration testing, and with end-to-end testing\nDemonstrated code review leadership on React codebases\nExperience authoring and maintaining GitHub Actions workflows and administering GitHub repositories\nExperience building accessible, responsive UIs, ideally within a shared design system\nStrong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills\nAbility to work effectively across multiple projects and technologies\nExperience with Vitest, Playwright, Snyk, SonarQube, Cursor or other AI-assisted development tools, Next.js, AWS or other cloud platforms, or enterprise platforms such as IBM TRIRIGA is highly valued.\nAs a senior engineer, you'll often be the technical face of Bellwood to our clients. You should be comfortable leading technical conversations with client stakeholders, translating business needs into clear technical plans, setting expectations and pushing back when needed, and building the trust that turns engagements into long-term partnerships.\nCompensation & Benefits\nCompensation at Bellwood is determined by several factors, including job scope, title, and relevant experience.
