Embedded Software Engineering\nEssential skills and knowledge:\nProgramming experience in C, C++, and Python.\nFamiliarity with Git and version control practices.\nBasic understanding of software testing methodologies.\nDesirable skills and experience:\nExperience with unit testing, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, or continuous integration (CI).\nFamiliarity with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and static code analysis tools.\nExperience developing embedded software in large, multi-team engineering environments.\n2. Control Engineering and Power Electronics\nEssential skills and knowledge:\nKnowledge of at least one relevant application area, such as power conversion, solar energy systems, battery energy storage, wind power, microgrids, or smart grids.\nUnderstanding of power electronic devices and systems, including inverters, rectifiers, DC/DC converters, and switching power supplies.\nExperience or a strong theoretical foundation in control loop design, system stability, and dynamic performance analysis.\nUnderstanding of feedback and feedforward control principles.\nKnowledge of practical control strategies used in power converters and the measurements and feedback signals required for effective control.\nFamiliarity with typical control loops in power electronic systems, including current, voltage, and power control.\nAbility to work across the boundary between embedded software and power electronics, translating control concepts into practical software implementations.\nImportant Considerations\nThis position specifically requires a combination of embedded software development and practical power electronics/control engineering knowledge.\nCandidates with general software development experience alone will not be a suitable match, even if they have worked on software for power electronics products. Similarly, candidates with a power electronics background must also demonstrate an understanding of converter control principles and how these are implemented in practice.\nRelevant academic backgrounds include Electrical Power Engineering, Power Electronics, Energy Systems, Control Engineering, or related disciplines.
