You’ll design and build multi-agent AI systems, Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations, and an internal AI development platform used by engineering teams across the organization.\nThis role is ideal for a strong senior AI or software engineer ready to step up into architecture. You’ll write production code every day while shaping the technical direction of the platform, working alongside engineering teams and stakeholders.\nWhat you’ll do:\n\nDesign and build multi-agent AI systems, including task delegation between agents, state management, and secure communication.\nBuild MCP servers and clients that securely connect large language models (LLMs) to enterprise data sources and developer tools.\nContribute to the architecture of an internal AI platform, with a focus on performance, low latency, and a smooth developer experience.\nWrite high-quality, production-ready code, build prototypes, and help set engineering best practices for AI development.\nWrite clear design documents, mentor engineers, and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.\nWhat we’re looking for\n\n8-12 years of professional software engineering experience.\nStrong programming skills in Python or Java.\nSolid system design skills: you can break down complex problems, weigh trade-offs, and design services that hold up at scale.\nExperience building and deploying on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), with Docker and Kubernetes.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nA bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.\nNice to have\n\nHands-on experience building LLM applications: RAG pipelines, vector databases, prompt engineering.\nExperience with agent frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, or CrewAI.\nExperience with MCP, or with tool calling and function calling in LLM APIs.\nExperience with TypeScript or Go.\nDaily use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.\nWork location and authorization\n\nThis is an onsite role in Morrisville, NC. Candidates must live in the Raleigh-Durham-RTP area or be willing to relocate.
