This role combines physical labor with leadership duties, ensuring the efficient and safe installation and maintenance of utility systems. The Foreman oversees construction operations and ensures compliance with safety standards to keep operations running smoothly. Foreman’s experience is pivotal in maintaining Benchmark’s high operational standards and fostering a productive work environment.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nSupervises and coordinates daily activity and time reporting of field crews \nSupervises daily paperwork execution (toolbox talks, dig permits, etc.) \nReviews, understands, and follows project plans and blueprints and track records of materials, deliveries, trucking and subcontractor work \nExamines and inspects work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met \nTroubleshoots and solves operational problems in a timely manner to minimize downtime \nMaintains effective communication with Superintendent, project managers, and subcontractors to resolve issues, report progress, and address changes in project scope \nIdentifies and addresses operational challenges or issues that may arise during underground utility installation \nSupervises and coordinates a team of employees, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely \nPerforms operations to meet job costs, schedule, and production goals \nConducts pre and post operating equipment checks \nReads and interprets blueprints and construction drawings, specifications, schematics, and technical manuals for equipment installation and repair \nLocates, measures, and marks site locations or placement of structures or equipment, using measuring and marking equipment \nBe accountable of self and entire crew on job site \nEnsures compliance with site specifications and safety regulations, and manages quality standards of each project \nInspects work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met \nEffectively communicates and resolves conflicts, address workplace disputes, and manage internal issues that arise on the job site \nTrains and mentors crew members to enhance technical skills and knowledge \nManages performance evaluations for crew members \nPerforms other duties, as assigned \nRequirements\nMinimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in the construction industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role \nOSHA 10/30 Certifications \nPrevious experience working with subcontractors and managing on-site teams effectively \nRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals for equipment installation and repair \nMust be willing to perform duties of laborer and operator upon demand if necessary \nBe available six (6) days a week if needed \nAbility to utilize mathematical formulas; adding and subtracting totals; multiplying and dividing \nAbility to work independently \nPhysical stamina and ability to work in all weather conditions \nMust have reliable transportation to the assigned jobsite daily \nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience operating large heavy equipment \nHigh School Diploma or Equivalent \nValid Driver’s license \nBenefits\nBenchmark Utility Services offers competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits and a dynamic work environment that values excellence, teamwork, and professional growth.
