This position is responsible for serving as a resource to employees and managers, including a bilingual workforce, ensuring compliance, and supporting a positive and productive workplace culture.\nThe ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of HR best practices, demonstrated experience owning benefits and employee relations, the ability to effectively communicate in both English and Spanish, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to HR support.\nRequirements\nKey Roles & Responsibilities\nServes as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, providing HR support and guidance in both English and Spanish, and promoting a positive and inclusive work environment\nAssists employee relations activities, including handling complaints, conducting investigations, documenting findings, and recommending effective solutions\nProvides coaching and guidance to managers on employee performance, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and corrective action processes\nAssists and administers employee benefits programs, including health insurance, leave programs, and 401(k)/retirement plans, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of employee inquiries\nCommunicates benefits and HR programs clearly to employees in both English and Spanish, as needed\nCoordinates open enrollment and manages benefits-related communications, system updates, and data audits\nSupports training delivery and employee communication for a bilingual workforce\nMaintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, such as FMLA, ADA, and EEO\nAssists in developing and communicating HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistent application across all departments\nMaintains and updates HR systems, including HRIS and timekeeping systems, while generating reports to support decision-making\nPartners with the HR team to identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency\nCollaborate closely with recruiters to facilitate an efficient and consistent onboarding experience across job sites nationwide.\nPerforms other duties and responsibilities assigned to support HR and business operations\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field\nThree to five (3-5) years of HR experience in a generalist role, with a strong emphasis on benefits administration and employee relations, preferably in the construction or industrial industry\nFluency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) - required\nStrong working knowledge of employee benefits, including health plans and 401(k)/retirement programs\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization\nProven problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills\nHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems\nPreferred Qualifications\nHR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR\nExperience in the construction industry or a similar fast-paced environment\nFamiliarity with training program development and delivery\nDemonstrated ability to manage compliance with state and federal employment laws and regulations\nBenefits\nWhy Join Benchmark Utility Services\nBenchmark Utility Services offers competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits and a dynamic work environment that values excellence, teamwork, and professional growth.
