The Safety Coordinator supports project teams, oversees hazard mitigation, monitors performance metrics, and drives continuous improvement to maintain compliance and reduce risks.\nKey Roles & Responsibilities\nSupervises and ensures the safety of employees, trade partners, and public \nEnforces corporate and projects specific safety and health programs as well as federal, state, and local safety standards \nGuide safety staff and assists in their development \nDirects daily operations and identifies opportunities to improve safety regulations \nFacilitates third party safety reviews including OSHA \nConducts risk assessments to minimize workplace accidents, occupational illness, and long-term health hazards \nProvides support to project teams on safety-related matters, including accident investigation and reporting \nPartners with field supervision to ensure safety hazard mitigation measures are included in the planning of project construction activities \nDevelops and catalogs Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) specific to trenching and pipe laying \nPresents safety information and documentation to various General Contractors (GCs) \nStays up to date with industry’s best practices and regulatory changes to continuously improve safety standards \nInvestigates and reports on accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence \nPerforms other duties, as assigned \nRequirements\nFour (4) + years of relevant construction safety experience with an undergraduate degree in safety and health (or related discipline) or demonstrated construction safety and trade experience \nAgile, energetic, data driven approach to achieving individual and organizational objectives while balancing short term and long-term goals \nPreferred Qualifications\nExcellent knowledge of OSHA standards and federal safety legislation \nSolid understanding of potentially hazardous materials and practices in the workplace. \nFamiliarity with writing health and safety policies and procedures \nProficiency in data analysis and reporting statistics \nWorking knowledge of safety management software \nStrong communication and teamwork skills \nExcellent supervisory and leadership abilities \nOSHA 500 certification \nBilingual (speak English and Spanish fluently)\nBenefits\nBenchmark Utility Services offers competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits and a dynamic work environment that values excellence, teamwork, and professional growth.
