Project Engineer
Downer is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our team based in Brendale, QLD. Ideally, this role would be suited to candidates with exposure across asphalt or other civil road construction environments. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated Engineer to learn all aspects of our operations and work within a driven and enthusiastic team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the delivery of allocated projects to agreed time, cost, quality and safety objectives.
- Monitor project cost, program, safety and commercial performance.
- Assist with risk identification, issue resolution and opportunity realisation.
- Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Project Engineers and Commercial teams.
- Participate in project meetings and prepare reports and presentations as required.
- Contribute to tendering, estimating and business development activities when required.
- Build, maintain and grow strong client and stakeholder relationships.
- Actively lead and promote a Zero Harm safety culture across all activities.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Tertiary Qualifications in Civil Engineering or related disciplines.
- Minimum 2 years exposure in asphalt or bituminous surfacing, civil road construction or road maintenance ideal.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear direction to crew members and effectively liaise with customers.
- Successful track record with planning, organising and time management.
- Commercial skills and understanding of financial administration and project costing advantageous.
- Proven experience in identifying opportunities; improvements and solutions.
- Demonstrated ability with building relationships with key stakeholders.
- Enthusiasm with an aptitude for seeking further opportunities to make a significant contribution.
- Strong safety focus with demonstrated evidence of actively promoting and sustaining a Zero Harm environment.
