Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Road Sweeper Operator to join our Wellington Cleaning Team.
This role is ideal for someone who has previously operated road sweeping equipment and understands the importance of delivering safe, high-quality cleaning and maintenance services across a busy urban environment.
You'll be responsible for operating road sweeping vehicles throughout the Wellington region, maintaining roads, kerb lines, cycleways and public spaces while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Working as part of our dedicated Cleaning Team, you'll also complete daily machine inspections, equipment checks and basic maintenance to keep your vehicle operating at its best.

To be successful in this role you'll have:
- Full NZ Class 2 Licence (essential)
- Previous road sweeper operating experience (essential)
- Experience operating Schwartz, Johnston or similar sweeping equipment highly regarded
- Strong understanding of vehicle inspections and daily maintenance checks
- Proven commitment to health, safety and quality
- Ability to work independently and manage daily workloads
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Reliable and dependable work ethic
Highly regarded:
- Class 4 Licence
- Experience working within road maintenance or council contracts
- Knowledge of Wellington road networks
