In this role, you will lead our hydraulic design, providing technical guidance on hydraulic design (BSR/CSR), storm drainage systems, and erosion control for linear transportation and infrastructure projects. You’ll collaborate across disciplines, manage project deliverables, and ensure compliance with MassDOT and FHWA standards.\nLocation\nThis position reports to our Boston office and follows a hybrid work schedule. \nThe Impact You Will Have\nLead and mentor junior staff members, fostering technical growth and professional development\nOversee hydrology and hydraulic analysis for the design and construction of transportation projects\nReview and approve stormwater management system and pond designs\nManage hydraulic culvert/bridge design and permitting processes\nProvide strategic direction on erosion and sediment pollution control designs\nEnsure quality control and compliance with MassDOT standards and FHWA Hydraulic Design Manual\nCollaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate hydraulics with overall civil/highway design\nAssist with client and stakeholder coordination, ensuring projects meet technical and regulatory requirements\nWhat You Will Need\nMinimum 8 years of experience in hydraulic design for transportation projects\nB.S. in Civil Engineering or a related discipline\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license required; ability to obtain Massachusetts PE\nProficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and HEC-RAS\nExperience developing deliverables per MassDOT standards (BSR/CSR experience preferred)\nKnowledge of erosion and sediment pollution control (MassDOT Level III Certification a plus)\nStrong understanding of the FHWA Hydraulic Design Manual\nExperience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment\nExcellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide project teams and collaborate effectively\nThe expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Massachusetts Pay Transparency Act Massachusetts Pay Transparency Act. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on numerous factors, including but not limited to individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic location.
