If this statement resonates with you, don’t be so hard on yourself-apply for the job!\nRoadway Transportation Project Manager\nBenesch is seeking a Roadway Transportation Project Manager to join our growing Transportation team in Franklin or Nashville, Tennessee. Benesch has a strong, well-established relationship with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and a growing portfolio of transportation work throughout the region. We are looking to add an experienced transportation professional who is interested in growing their career while helping us expand our presence and continue building strong relationships with TN transportation clients.\nWe are open to speaking with experienced Project Managers as well as Senior Project Engineers who are ready to take the next step in their careers and grow their project management, client relationship, and business development skills. This is an opportunity to combine strong technical roadway expertise with project leadership and client development while working alongside an experienced transportation team.\nThe ideal candidate is someone who wants to grow with a team, take on increasing responsibility, and play a meaningful role in the continued growth of Benesch’s transportation practice.\nLocation\nThis position offers a hybrid work schedule and can be based out of either our Franklin or Nashville, Tennessee, office.\nThe Impact You Will Have\nLead the planning, design, and delivery of roadway and transportation projects from project initiation through completion.\nServe as a primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships and ensuring successful project delivery.\nManage project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, quality, and overall financial performance.\nLead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, designers, subconsultants, and other project partners.\nProvide technical leadership and oversight for roadway design and transportation projects.\nDevelop and review roadway plans, specifications, estimates, reports, and other technical project deliverables.\nApply knowledge of TDOT, AASHTO, FHWA, and applicable local and state transportation standards to project development and delivery.\nIdentify project risks, develop solutions, and proactively address issues that could impact project scope, schedule, budget, or quality.\nLead client meetings, project presentations, coordination meetings, and other project discussions.\nSupport proposals, scopes of work, fee development, interviews, and other business development activities.\nIdentify new opportunities and contribute to the growth of Benesch’s transportation practice through client relationships and professional networks.\nDevelop and maintain relationships with TDOT, municipalities, counties, and other transportation agencies and industry partners.\nRepresent Benesch at industry events, networking events, professional organizations, and other business development opportunities.\nMentor and develop engineers and designers while helping build a strong and collaborative transportation team.\nCollaborate with other Benesch offices and service lines to identify opportunities and provide integrated solutions for clients.\nContribute to the continued growth of Benesch’s Transportation team through technical expertise, project leadership, and market knowledge.\nWhat We Are Looking For\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.\n8+ years of progressive experience in roadway or transportation engineering and project delivery.\nLicensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.\nExperience managing roadway and transportation projects from planning and design through final delivery.\nStrong technical knowledge of roadway design principles, standards, and project delivery practices.\nExperience with TDOT projects and applicable TDOT standards preferred.\nExperience with roadway design software such as OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, or similar platforms.\nDemonstrated experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables.\nStrong client relationship management and communication skills.\nDemonstrated interest or experience in business development, client development, proposal preparation, or pursuit strategy.\nAbility to identify opportunities, develop professional relationships, and contribute to the growth of a transportation practice.\nStrong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to mentor and develop engineers and designers.\nStrong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.\nExcellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, project teams, and agency representatives.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams and offices.\nWhy Benesch?\nIt’s simple.
