As a Bridge Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on vehicular bridges (simple and complex), pedestrian bridges, retaining walls, and other transportation-related structures. At Benesch we work on projects in the planning, design, construction, and in-service phases so you will get exposed to the full life cycle of structures. The ideal candidate will have a history of successfully completing bridge projects and the ability to mentor junior staff.\nLocation\nThis position offers flexibility within Utah. Benesch is expanding into Utah, and whether you are on the Wasatch Front or in Southern Utah, we encourage you to apply and join us in this exciting expansion.\nThe Impact You Will Have\nServe as lead engineer on a variety of bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects\nMentor junior staff and assist with the growth and development of the structural staff\nPrepare and review structural and geometrical calculations for bridge design projects\nAssume responsibility for assigned design calculation files and plans assuring adequate independent QC reviews on that work\nManage the process of compiling and coordinating plans, specifications, cost estimates and pay items per DOT standards\nCoordinate the above tasks with the Project Manager\nLead structural designers on bridge design and rehabilitation projects\nWhat You Will Need\nBS in Civil Engineering and/or Structural Engineering or related discipline, MS is a plus\nPE License in Utah or ability to obtain through reciprocity\n5 to 10+ years of bridge design experience\nExperience working with UDOT and/or municipalities\nStrong organization and leadership skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules\nProven experience performing complex analysis and design\nAbility to assemble a complete design package and construction documents for assigned elements or projects\nProven experience with various structural design and analysis software; Leap Bridge, LUSUS, Midas, and OpenBridge a plus\nExcellent communication and client relation skills\nAbility to work effectively in a team environment\nDigital delivery and alternate delivery experience preferred\nWhy Benesch?\nIt’s simple.
