Responsibilities

Performs QC lab duties and process order management.

Follows all safety guidelines and rules; environmental and regulatory guidelines; uses all required safety equipment.

Maintains quality and cleanliness of the work area and equipment.

Maintain laboratory and equipment, including calibration of prescribed lab equipment.

Assist in the process of scale up and watch batches.

Perform and analyze laboratory tests and procedures and record data clearly and concisely.

Performs quality control checks and procedures, prescribed to ensure effective, accurate and expeditious processing supporting first run capability, in process QC, calculating post adds, prefill approval, filling approval, and verification that final fill product is fit for use and release.

Visually approve comparative drawdowns for color, gloss/sheen, opacity, and cleanliness.

Interpret spectrophotometric data.

Maintain inventory of lab supplies and raw materials.

Maintains the highest standards for product quality and service.

Checks ZWIP and ZFIN process orders for accuracy and completeness including packaging info and raw materials quantities and type as well as QC data.

Investigate non-conformances immediately and quarantines OOS or questionable materials until a final disposition is provided.

Performs other duties as required.

Communicates with other departments for proper transfer of completed batches to assigned holding tanks.

This individual will work seamlessly with the QC Lab, Filling, Mixing, and Thinning & Shading Department to process batches of paint - taking direction from the production supervisor/manager and department leads as required.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent required

Ability to work in a team environment and the willingness to be cross-functional and flexible to change duties and start times.

Excellent attention to detail

Basic math skills, i.e., addition/subtraction/multiplication/division

Ability to use company software and computer system programs (includes SAP, Cimplicity, MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Data Color spectrophotometer software)

Good organizational and record keeping skills.

Ability to work safely and follow SOPs.

Good interpersonal communication skills

Frequency of physical activity throughout shift :

Frequent sitting, standing, bending/twisting of neck and waist, squatting and kneeling.

Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects from floor.

Constant standing (6-8+ hours)

Ability to stand and climb stairs as needed.

Ability to lift a minimum of 55 lbs. continuously throughout shift.

Frequency of upper and lower extremity activity throughout shift:

Constant grasping with dominant hand (6-8+ hours)

Constant walking (6-8+ hours)

Additional Environment Factors and exposure throughout shift:

Ability to use proper PPE (eye protection, safety shoes, gloves, safety shoes, etc.…)

Ability to work overtime when required.
