The Portal serves as a foundational platform connecting Bentley's infrastructure solutions and enabling seamless experiences across projects, assets, users, organizations, and shared services.\nIn this role, you will lead a team of software engineers responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-based platform capabilities. You will build high-performing teams while driving engineering excellence, technical execution, and delivery of strategic initiatives. Working closely with Product Managers, Technical Leads, Architects, UX, and Quality Engineering, you will help shape technical direction, contribute to architectural decisions, and advance Bentley's Infrastructure Cloud vision.\nResponsibilities\nLead, coach, and develop a high-performing software engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation.\nProvide ongoing feedback, performance management, mentoring, and career development support for team members.\nRecruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent while supporting workforce planning and succession planning.\nDrive the delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-based platform capabilities.\nPartner with Technical Leads and Architects to drive technical strategy, architectural direction, and key engineering decisions.\nEstablish and maintain high standards for software quality, performance, reliability, security, testing, and operational excellence.\nPromote modern engineering practices including Agile delivery, CI/CD, automation, observability, and continuous improvement.\nAlign engineering execution with product strategy, customer needs, and business priorities to ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives.\nUse data, telemetry, and engineering insights to improve team effectiveness, product quality, and delivery outcomes.\nCollaborate closely with Product Management, UX, Quality Engineering, and peer engineering leaders to achieve shared goals and remove delivery barriers.\nChampion Bentley's vision, values, and strategic priorities while helping teams understand how their work contributes to broader business outcomes.\nQualifications\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.\n5+ years of people management experience leading and developing software engineering teams.\n8+ years of software development experience building enterprise-scale applications, platforms, or cloud services.\nDemonstrated success coaching, mentoring, and developing software engineers and emerging leaders.\nStrong technical background with the ability to participate in architecture discussions, evaluate technical trade-offs, and influence technical direction.\nExperience designing, building, and operating cloud-based software products, platforms, or services at scale.\nExperience evaluating, building, or delivering AI-enabled features, developer productivity solutions, or intelligent platform capabilities.\nStrong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, cloud-native development, security, and modern software engineering practices.\nExperience driving engineering excellence across code quality, testing, CI/CD, reliability, and operational effectiveness.\nProven ability to build engaged, high-performing teams and establish credibility with senior engineers, technical leads, and architects.\nExperience working with globally distributed teams and cross-functional partners.\nStrong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to balance people leadership, technical leadership, engineering execution, and business priorities.\n\nThis is a Hybrid role.\nWhat We Offer:\nStep into a collaborative work environment where ideas flourish, and teamwork propels us forward towards shared success.\nAn attractive salary and benefits package.\nBentley Impact Day: take a day off from work to volunteer with an organization of your choice.\nCelebrate milestone achievements and moments that matter through our colleague recognition award programs and our Bentley Achievers platform.\nA commitment to inclusion, belonging and colleague wellbeing through global initiatives and resource groups.\nBe part of a company committed to making a real difference by advancing the world’s infrastructure for better quality of life, where your contributions help build a more sustainable, connected, and resilient world.
