Director, Legal Entity Planning & Forecast

The Director, Legal Entity Planning & Forecasting will be a key member of the Corporate FP&A team and will own the enterprise legal entity forecasting and reporting framework. The role will translate the management forecast into a complete, accurate, and reconciled legal entity forecast. This serves as a key input to our corporate tax planning and transfer pricing processes, legal entity cash flow and liquidity forecasting, as well as other related accounting analyses. The position will partner with Corporate FP&A, Global Tax, Treasury, Accounting/Controllership, Finance Systems, and business finance teams across Commercial, R&D, Technical Operations, and G&A.

The successful candidate will combine strong FP&A and business planning capabilities with sufficient accounting, tax, intercompany, and legal entity knowledge to understand how management forecasts translate into legal entity financial statements and related implications on tax planning, transfer pricing, and capital allocation strategies (cash flow by entity perspective). This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for building governance, controls, and accountability around legal entity forecasting while ensuring one reconciled view of the company across management and statutory/tax needs.

The ideal candidate is proactive, highly analytical, comfortable operating in a dynamic global environment, and able to move between detailed model mechanics and executive-level insights. The role requires strong cross-functional influence, process design skills, and a continuous-improvement mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and govern the enterprise Legal Entity Forecasting framework, including process design, calendar, ownership, controls, data requirements, and reconciliation to the management forecast

• Lead the translation of management forecasts into legal entity forecasts, ensuring entity-level P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow projections reconcile to the consolidated FP&A outlook

• Partner with Finance Systems/TM1 to design scalable forecasting capabilities, enabling efficient capture and allocation of costs, intercompany activity, and other legal entity drivers across the enterprise

• Provide reliable legal entity forecasts and insights to Global Tax to support tax provision, effective tax rate forecasting, tax planning, transfer pricing, impairment/valuation analysis, and other accounting-for-income-tax requirements

• Partner with Treasury to assess legal entity liquidity and cash generation, identifying potential funding requirements, trapped cash, and implications for capital allocation and treasury risk

• Perform regular actual-to-forecast and forecast-to-forecast variance analysis by legal entity, identifying key drivers, emerging risks, and potential implications for Global Tax, Treasury, Accounting, and management reporting

• Establish governance and accountability across Legal Entity Finance Directors and functional teams, ensuring completeness, accuracy, timely submissions, and resolution of forecast risks

• Provide management with actionable legal entity insights, highlighting forecast changes and emerging risks impacting GlobalTax, Treasury, Accounting, and enterprise financial planning.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of progressive experience across FP&A, corporate finance, accounting, controllership, transaction advisory, audit, or related finance disciplines in a complex multinational environment.

• CPA preferred. Big 4 audit, accounting advisory, transaction services, or similar background is highly valued but not required if equivalent corporate experience is demonstrated.

• Demonstrated experience with legal entity forecasting statutory/entity-level planning, tax forecasting support, or integrated forecasting across FP&A, Global Tax, Treasury, and Accounting.

• Strong understanding of US GAAP and consolidated financial statements; IFRS knowledge; knowledge of accounting for income taxes (ASC 740), impairment/valuation concepts, and the role of forecasts in external reporting.

• Solid understanding of intercompany transactions, transfer pricing, and how operational activity flows through legal entities.

• Experience with cash flow and liquidity forecasting and the ability to connect legal entity earnings, balance sheet movements, and cash requirements.

• Experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry strongly preferred, with understanding of R&D, Technical Operations/manufacturing, Commercial, and Global Medical Affairs economics.

• Public-company and multinational experience strongly preferred; SEC reporting exposure is a plus.

• Advanced financial modeling and systems skills; TM1/Planning Analytics experience strongly preferred, with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

• People-management experience and demonstrated ability to influence across functions without direct authority.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex entity-level financial information into clear executive insights.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, results-focused, and comfortable balancing strategic process design with hands-on execution.
