You will run marketing for a 90-person company, the only dedicated marketing person, reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, with a clear path to grow into leading the department.\nWe are looking for a self-starter who takes full ownership. You will set priorities, run campaigns start to finish, and be measured above all on one thing: generating qualified leads for our residential and commercial sales teams. You will also own how Sun Light & Power sounds and looks, both to the outside world and to our own employee-owners, and you will make our Benefit Corp values and employee-ownership a central part of that story.\nResponsibilities:\nLead generation\nBuild and run lead generation programs with clear targets for residential and commercial sales. report metrics on what is working.\nDevelop and manage technical SEO, on-page optimization, content strategies, and off-page link-building \nReport on program metrics, analyze and make recommendations.\nExternal marketing\nOwn the brand across every channel: website, email, social, print, and advertising.\nPlan and run campaigns, then measure results and adjust.\nWrite and maintain web content, newsletters, press releases, brochures, and sales and proposal materials, including RFP responses.\nManage targeted tradeshows, sponsorships, and community events.\nDevelop case studies, references, and testimonials from completed projects.\nCreate a story of clear market differentials that explain why SLP is the most desirable solar design & installation company in the Bay Area.\nInternal marketing\nTell the employee-ownership story inside the company with communications that keep employee-owners informed, aligned, and proud of what they build.\nSupport HR with recruiting and culture with internal campaigns and materials.\nPitch your ideas to management and create business-savvy proposals.\nBrand, values, and the B-Corp / ESOP story\nMake our Benefit Corp commitments and employee-ownership a clear, consistent thread in how we market.\nTranslate technical solar and storage work into messages for our commercial and residential audiences.\nOperations\nManage vendor and agency relationships, company certifications, and partner co-op marketing dollars.\nKeep brand standards consistent across everything the company produces.\nQualifications:\nMust have\n3 to 5 years of marketing experience, ideally as a generalist who has worn many hats.\nA track record of generating leads or demand, not just producing content.\nStrong writing, and the ability to turn technical subjects into clear, compelling messages.\nProject management discipline and the self-direction to run your own priorities without being closely managed.\nComfort with core marketing tools such as analytics, email platforms, socials, etc.\nGenuine alignment with our mission, our Benefit Corp values, and employee ownership.\nNice to have\nExperience in construction, solar, home services, or another business to consumer market.\nGraphic design ability in Adobe Creative Suite.\nA bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field.
