This role provides executive leadership for quality practices, test automation, vendor governance, and talent development to ensure consistent delivery excellence.\nQuality Strategy & Leadership\nDefine and execute Berkley’s Quality Engineering vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap.\nEstablish enterprise-wide quality standards, practices, and governance frameworks.\nBuild and mature a Quality Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE).\nServe as the executive leader and advocate for quality across technology and business organizations.\nInfluence delivery organizations to embed quality ownership throughout the development lifecycle.\nQuality Engineering Practice Development\nDesign and implement Berkley’s future-state Quality Engineering operating model.\nDefine quality engineering processes, methodologies, standards, and best practices.\nEstablish test strategy frameworks for functional, integration, end-to-end, performance, operational readiness, and user acceptance testing.\nDevelop quality metrics and executive dashboards to measure delivery effectiveness and product quality.\nCreate repeatable quality patterns that can be leveraged across programs and operating units.\nTest Automation & Innovation\nDefine and lead Berkley’s enterprise automation strategy.\nEstablish automation frameworks, tooling standards, and quality engineering platforms.\nDrive increased automation coverage and efficiency across the software delivery lifecycle.\nEvaluate and implement emerging technologies, including AI-enabled testing solutions.\nIdentify opportunities to reduce manual effort and accelerate release readiness.\nVendor Leadership & Delivery Governance\nProvide strategic oversight of quality engineering vendors and testing partners.\nEstablish vendor accountability, performance measures, and service expectations.\nEnsure quality standards are consistently applied across all delivery partners.\nLead knowledge-transfer and capability-building initiatives to reduce long-term external dependency.\nOptimize blended onshore/offshore delivery models to maximize value and scalability.\nTalent & Organizational Development\nEstablish Berkley’s Quality Engineering profession and career framework.\nDefine role structures, competencies, skills progression, and development pathways.\nRecruit, mentor, and develop high-performing quality engineering talent.\nBuild succession plans and future leadership pipelines for the discipline.\nFoster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and engineering excellence.\nDelivery Quality & Risk Management\nPartner with program and engineering leaders to ensure delivery quality objectives are achieved.\nImplement enterprise quality gates and release readiness standards.\nLead defect prevention and root-cause analysis activities.\nIdentify and mitigate quality risks across strategic initiatives.\nDrive continuous improvement through lessons learned and quality analytics.\nQualifications\nQualifications:\n10+ years of progressive experience in Quality Engineering, Software Testing, or Engineering Leadership roles.\n5+ years leading enterprise-scale Quality Engineering organizations or practices.\nProven experience building or transforming Quality Engineering capabilities.\nExperience leading quality teams across complex technology transformation programs.\nDemonstrated success developing and executing enterprise quality strategies.\nExperience managing large vendor and partner relationships.\nStrong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.\nPreferred Experience:\nInsurance or financial services industry experience.\nExperience supporting Guidewire or large core system modernization initiatives.\nExperience implementing enterprise test automation frameworks.\nExperience establishing Quality Engineering Centers of Excellence.\nExperience with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and modern software delivery practices.\nExperience leveraging AI and intelligent automation within testing and quality disciplines.\nLeadership Competencies:\nStrategic Thinking.\nEnterprise Influence.\nOrganizational Change Leadership.\nTalent Development & Coaching.\nExecutive Presence.\nContinuous Improvement Mindset.\nOperational Excellence.\nVendor & Partner Management.\nData-Driven Decision Making.\nAdditional Company Details\nWe do not accept unsolicited resumes from third party recruiting agencies or firms.
