This role serves as a strategic connector between US field underwriting teams, and the UK ensuring alignment, consistency, and momentum across the territories.\nSpecific Duties\nIn strategic alliance with the President:\nDevelop and execute a territory start-up plan, including broker engagement, compliance and underwriting protocols, client acquisition strategies, and brand awareness initiatives.\nBuild foundational relationships with local brokers, agents, and industry stakeholders to accelerate market entry and drive early business results.\nMonitor and report on territory performance metrics (including growth, profit, retention, and new business), adjusting strategies to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities.\nCycle management- devise strategies and protocols to grow profitably during all market cycles.\nResponsible for account solicitation, risk selection and analysis including the corresponding documentation, pricing and marketing of Berkley Life Sciences products and services for new and existing customers.\nIdentify opportunities for account rounding.\nProvide technical support to producers and insureds\nStay current with all compliance, procedural and workflow changes.\nWork collaboratively and effectively with underwriting associate, operations, legal, home office underwriting and claims\nBuild and expand the underwriting team, fostering professional development and continuous learning to ensure sustained expertise and growth.\nTechnical Skills and Competencies\nEntrepreneurial Leadership\nRelationship & Personal Leadership\nTechnical & Job Effectiveness\nInnovation and Initiative\nQualifications\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience\nMinimum of 8 years of underwriting experience including products, property, workers compensation and automobile; \nClaims made experience a plus.\nProducts Liability experience a plus\nQualifications\nExceptional oral and written communication skills.
