This position reports to the Online and Digital Sales Director, supporting the sales managers responsible for selling Random House Adult titles to multiple online accounts including Amazon, Apple, Audible, Kobo, and Spotify.\nThe Assistant will distribute sales reports corporately, track/analyze data, help the team prepare for various meetings, and act as a liaison between the sales managers, sales directors, and the publishers. They will be tasked with reading frontlist titles, asked to share their opinions on them, and sit in on both divisional book launch, strategy, and marketing meetings across many pre-eminent publishing divisions. A creative and strategic marketing instinct will be important when managing backlist merchandising packages across all book categories at Amazon and other online accounts.\nIf you are a reader interested in book publishing and the evolving, fast-paced world of online/digital sales, this will be the perfect position for you!\nThis NYC-based role is a hybrid position with in-office responsibilities for a minimum of one day a week in the office. Candidates must include a resume and cover letter to be considered for the role.\nSpecific responsibilities include:\nDaily management of orders, sales reports, inventory, marketing content, and ancillary issues for titles at Amazon\n\nOrchestrate merchandising, sales reports, initial buys, reorders, and monthly meetings with publishers for frontlist and backlist titles\n\nWorking and collaborating cross-departmentally with Metadata, Amazon Marketing Services, and Amazon Customer Service team members\n\nCompiling and circulating time-sensitive data from a variety of internal databases and running ad hoc reports\n\nManaging and executing monthly backlist merchandising reports across all PRH divisions\n\nAssisting in the preparation for account appointments (i.e. gathering and preparing materials, creating PowerPoint presentations, Edelweiss catalogs) and participating in account-facing title presentations\n\nProviding general administrative support for the department, including establishing staff meeting agendas, account manager calendar deadlines, and providing coverage when Sales Managers are out of the office\n\nQualifications\nPlease apply if you meet the following minimum requirements:\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, inclination for public speaking a plus\n\nHigh proficiency with Excel (vlookups, pivot tables), Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint\n\nProven ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines\n\nStrong analytical skills, including the ability to work comfortably with numbers\n\nAbility to successfully prioritize and work on multiple projects at a time\n\nProactive, with strong organizational and follow-up skills\n\nTeam player with ability to work independently\n\nPrior experience in retail, bookselling, and/or office environments is a plus\n\nA passion for book publishing and sales is highly valued!\n\nAdditional Information\nThe Penguin Random House national headquarters is located in New York City.
