This is an on-site/in-person role.\n\nSummary/Objective\nWe are seeking an experienced Staff Software Test Engineer to join our app test team at our San Diego location. As a Software Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our mobile applications and pump firmware. You will be responsible for app testing activities including test case development, planning, creating documents, tracing to requirements and hazards, defect management, automated and manual test execution, mobile app/cloud integration, owning test activities, and building out our automation framework.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n[Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Qualified candidates who need a reasonable accommodation with the application process and/or to perform the essential functions of the position should notify the company’s HR contact]\nDevelop and execute comprehensive test plans for pump firmware, incorporating both automated and manual testing methodologies, including integration and system testing between pump firmware and mobile apps/cloud API.\nEnhance our current automation framework and optimize automation test creation and execution.\nDocumenting defects in detail and participates in dry runs and formal runs of the product.\nCollaborate closely with the development team to identify and resolve any technical issues, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality software products.\nAttend scrums and planning meetings to provide valued input on test activities.\nExcellent documentation processes establishing traceability from requirements and risks to test cases, writing reports and plans, and following procedures in regulated environment.\nInteracting with hardware such as bread boards, benchtop tools, and flashing of firmware.\nOperates with high standards that are aligned to corporate values.\nRequired Education and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.\nProven experience in firmware testing with 10+ years experience, preferably in the medical device industry, and 15+ years experience overall in related fields.\nExperience in integration and system testing between cloud and mobile apps.\nStrong expertise in both automated and manual testing methodologies, with a solid understanding of testing frameworks and tools.\nExperience using automation frameworks like Appium, XCUITest, UIAutomator.\nExperience with Page Object Model pattern.\nExperience testing a product that communicates to Bluetooth Low Energy devices.\nKnowledge of RESTful APIs and web services integration.\nExperience with code analysis and unit testing.\nExcellent problem-solving and debugging skills.\nStrong communication and teamwork skills.\nExperience with agile development methodologies.\nProficient in a programming language with 10+ years' experience, such as Java.\nExperience with using defect tracking, requirements, testing, and task management tools.\nPreferred Experience and Qualifications\nWorked in regulated software development environment.\nHas worked on one or more commercial firmware applications.\nStay updated with the latest testing development trends, tools, and technologies.\nWork Environment and Personal Protective Equipment\nThis job operates in a professional office environment.
