Key areas of oversight and substantive work support will include export compliance (EAR and ITAR), security compliance, and US Government contract compliance. The successful candidate will report into the Office of the Chief Legal Officer and will work with other Team Members to support BETA’s daily needs while strategically building its capacity in an area that requires application of regulatory frameworks to cutting-edge technology. \nThis position requires a working knowledge of US export compliance (such as licensing and classifications), self assessments and audits, implementation of digital technology to support compliance, and comfort drafting standard work and improving processes. This role will monitor and interpret evolving regulatory landscapes develop training programs on regulatory requirements for cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and capable of working in both independent and team environments with minimal direction. \nHow you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:\nProgress BETA’s comprehensive enterprise compliance program through daily support while advancing its long-term strategic roadmap\nCreate quarterly updates and assessments, engage with leadership on recommendations to address weaknesses \nProject manage enterprise compliance obligations, working cross-functionally to ensure requirements are met throughout the business \nEstablish and manage compliance related policies and procedures \nCreate/update and provide trainings on relevant requirements, policies and process Provide clear guidance to company employees, and recommend modifications to operations policies or procedures as appropriate \nInvestigate escapes and reporting and prepare comprehensive analyses with recommended actions \nCoordinate and collaborate with key stakeholders both in and outside of the Legal and Compliance organization \nMeticulous record keeping to support compliance requirements \nUnderstanding and substantive support of export compliance activities and related compliance issues (example: ability to assist with reviewing and drafting license applications)\nMinimum Qualifications:\n10+ years of experience in an aerospace compliance role \nWorking knowledge US export regulations \nStrong communications skills, both oral and written \nSuperior organization and project management skills \nStrong IT aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft and other digital technology including US Government portals and databases and implementation of digital solutions \nProven ability to analyze problems, assess options and propose solutions \nProven ability to strategically prioritize projects and lead significant improvements to successful and timely closure \nUS Government contract experience \nUS Citizenship\nAbove and Beyond Qualifications:\nExperience with Canadian Controlled Goods Program \nExperience acting as an Empowered Official \nSecurity clearance or ability to obtain clearance \nJD or other relevant advanced degree or license preferred but not required\nIn person or hybrid position for South Burlington, VT office strongly preferred\nThe wage listed here reflects our best faith estimate for this role.
