As a Senior Software Engineer you'll shape this growing system, owning major projects from first conversations with operators on the floor, to operating the system for hundreds of users.\nHow you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:\nLead the design, development, and operation of the systems that take engineering parts from specification to work plan to signed-off floor execution, with every material, tool, and inspection tied to the record\nOwn data modeling for core manufacturing domains, designing schemas that solve today's product needs and give the team a foundation to build on for years\nDefine the architecture of the systems you own and document decisions through design docs and reviews\nBuild reliable integrations with PLM, ERP, and warehouse systems, and the durable, observable pipelines that keep them in sync\nDesign traceability, audit trails, and record integrity into the systems from the start\nEmbed with production, quality, and manufacturing engineering on the floor, and turn their ideas into systems that hold up under an FAA audit\nSupport production systems and lead incident response, learning from mistakes to drive continuous improvement\nContribute to hiring and uphold standards for testing, code quality, and documentation\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience\n6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including owning production backend systems\nYou use AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor) daily and keep the rigor high-assurance systems demand: design review, testing, and validation\nYou're a data modeling expert, with deep experience designing relational models for traceability and reliability in complex, state-heavy business domains\nYou’ve built battle-tested integrations with third party systems: You can perform API forensics, badger support teams, and build integrations that tolerate unreliable, inconsistent behavior from systems you don't control\nYou can translate our complex work to nontechnical partners to build credibility, make decisions, and drive adoption\nYou've deployed and operated production applications on AWS or a similar cloud provider\nAbove and Beyond Qualifications:\nExperience building software for manufacturing or production environments\nExperience in aerospace or another regulated industry (e.g., AS9100, FAA, ITAR/EAR) and with audit-trail or traceability systems\nExperience designing or building ERP, MES, QMS, PLM, or inventory management systems\nFamiliarity with BOM lineage, engineering change control, serialized traceability, or NCR/CAPA/FAI workflows\nBackground in data engineering or analytics pipelines\nPrevious experience at a startup or in a fast-paced environment\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment:\nThis role requires the ability to work on-site at BETA facilities as needed to embed with the teams you support.
