The role will establish the methods, models, requirements, and test-correlation strategy needed to manage coupled wing, pylon, open-fan, control-system, and airframe dynamic risk. This position will be based onsite at our South Burlington, VT office location, our Raleigh, NC office. Remote candidates may be considered for a hybrid role, with monthly visits to South Burlington, VT for in person work.\nHow you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:\nLead development of mass- and stiffness-representative finite element models for modal, vibration, forced-response, transient, and aeroelastic analyses\nDefine the structural-dynamics analysis plan, model architecture, interfaces, quality checks, and technical-review approach\nAssess coupled wing, pylon, propulsion, control-surface, and aircraft-system dynamic behavior, including open-fan excitation and whirl-flutter risk\nTranslate analysis results into stiffness, mass-property, damping, isolation, clearance, instrumentation, and structural design requirements\nPlan ground vibration, component vibration, structural coupling, and model-correlation activities for later program phases\nCoordinate structural models and assumptions with Loads, Aeroelasticity, Flight Controls, Propulsion, Stress, Design, Test, and team counterparts\nGuide mitigation trades and communicate dynamic risk, uncertainty, and recommended decisions to program leadership\nMentor other engineers and improve reusable analysis methods and automation\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field\nSeven or more years of structural dynamics, vibration, aeroelasticity, or aircraft dynamic-test experience\nDeep understanding of modal analysis, damping, forced response, finite element methods, and model correlation\nExperience with NASTRAN, FEMAP, MATLAB, Python, or comparable dynamics-analysis tools\nDemonstrated technical leadership across multidisciplinary aircraft-development interfaces\nMust be a US Person to be considered for the role\nAbove and Beyond Qualifications:\nTransport-aircraft wing, pylon, propulsion-installation, control-surface, flutter, or whirl-flutter experience\nExperience planning and correlating ground vibration or component dynamic tests\nKnowledge of Part 25 structural-dynamics and aeroelastic certification considerations\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment:\nThis role requires extended computer work and regular access to office, laboratory, hangar, and test environments. Occasional travel, nonstandard test hours, and ause of standard personal protective equipment may be required.\nThe wage listed here reflects our best faith estimate for this role.
