As a software engineer you’ll collaborate with our Maintenance, Flight Ops, Ground Service Equipment, and Data teams as well as work directly with our customers. This role requires equal parts engineering depth and interpersonal skill: you will build trust with non-technical stakeholders, translate ambiguous problems into clear technical designs, and ship high-quality software in a fast-moving environment. This role will focus on building out our data product capabilities as well as supporting our digital product platform.\nHow you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:\nDesign, develop, and deploy full-stack web applications, internal tools, and APIs that address real customer needs\nLeverage an AI first approach to accelerate development and build intelligent products\nEvaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies and tools to improve efficiency\nDrive innovation and continuous improvement in the development process\nTranslate complex, ambiguous requirements from non-technical stakeholders into clear technical designs and working solutions\nAssess technical feasibility of proposed requirements and communicate tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders\nMaintain technical documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer and long-term adoption of solutions\nParticipate in cross team software guild(s) to improve Beta’s software organization\nDevelop and collaborate with Software Architecture Leads to maintain long term technical designs and roadmaps\nWork with a team of software engineers to delivery high quality code in a regular release cadence\nAcknowledge and learn from past mistakes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field\n3-5 years of professional software engineering experience\nExperience with agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex)\nProficiency in modern full-stack development (e.g., React/TypeScript)\nExperience with serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda and Fargate\nExperience with modern web frameworks (ex: TanStack Start, NextJS, etc.)\nExperience with AWS CDK\nExperience with REST APIs, databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)\nExperience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines\nDemonstrated ability to operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt rapidly to changing requirements\nAbove and Beyond Qualifications:\nPrevious experience at a startup or in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment\nExperience building internal tools and enterprise applications\nExperience in aerospace, manufacturing, or a regulated industry\nTrack record of identifying, scoping, and delivering projects with minimal direction\nThe wage listed here reflects our best faith estimate for this role.
