Better Collective is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Platform team and support the design, automation, and day-to-day operation of our cloud infrastructure.\nThe role\nAs a DevOps Engineer, you’ll work alongside our Platform/DevOps team to build, scale, and automate infrastructure, and support our developer teams with reliable CI/CD. You’ll get hands-on exposure to the full infrastructure lifecycle, with guidance and mentorship from senior engineers as you grow. An appreciation for sports business logic is a plus for understanding backlog priorities, but our focus is on solid engineering fundamentals, across products like BolaVIP, Futbin, Action Network, SitesDeApostas, ScoresAndOdds, BettingExpert, HLTV, and RotoGrinders.\nJob responsibilities\nCloud Infrastructure: Help manage, secure, and scale our cloud environment (currently AWS)\n\nInfrastructure as Code: Provision and maintain infrastructure using Terraform; manage configuration with Chef/Ansible.\n\nContainers: Deploy and support containerized applications using Docker on ECS/EKS (or equivalent orchestration).\n\nServerless & Edge: Work with serverless functions (e.g. AWS Lambda) and edge tooling (e.g. Cloudflare Workers).\n\nCI/CD Pipelines: Build and maintain automated pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar.\n\nTraffic & CDNs: Support content delivery, caching, and routing configuration (Cloudflare, CloudFront or similar).\n\nMonitoring & Observability: Help maintain infrastructure health tracking and alerting (Checkmk, Prometheus, or Grafana).\n\nNetworking: Assist with firewall, VPC, and routing configuration.\n\nApp Support: Troubleshoot environment-level issues for Node.js, PHP, and WordPress applications, escalating complex cases as needed.\n\nTechnical stack\nCloud & Orchestration: AWS or equivalent cloud experience, Docker, ECS/EKS or similar (ArgoCD is a plus)\n\nIaC & Automation: Terraform, Chef, Ansible (or similar config management tools)\n\nServerless: Lambda or equivalent, Cloudflare Workers\n\nCDN & Networking: Cloudflare, CDN basics, networking fundamentals (VPC, firewalls)\n\nCI/CD & Git: GitHub Actions or similar, Git, Gitflow\n\nDatabases: MySQL, PostgreSQL; knowledge to DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch is a plus\n\nMonitoring: Checkmk, Prometheus, or Grafana\n\nWeb Servers: Nginx or Apache configuration and management\n\nLanguages/Scripting: Bash, Python, or similar; familiarity with Node.js and/or PHP environments\n\nJob requirements\nExperience: 2-4 years in SRE, Platform Engineering, or DevOps, ideally with cloud infrastructure (AWS experience is a plus, not required).\n\nIaC: Hands-on experience with Terraform and/or Ansible.\n\nOS Admin: Solid working knowledge of Linux administration (Ubuntu/Debian).\n\nTroubleshooting: Comfortable diagnosing issues in live Node.js and/or PHP/WordPress applications, or eager to build this skill.\n\nMindset: Organized, deadline-aware, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.\n\nAI: Curiosity about AI-assisted workflows and tools is a plus.\n\nBenefits\nPrivate health insurance\n\nSick leave 100% paid\n\nCanteen with free meals and drinks\n\nFlexible working hours\n\nAdditional vacation days after two years in the company\n\nWe also provide up-to date equipment, entertainment facilities in a modern office right in the city center and more.\nNote: Flexible working hours and occasional work from home options in Better Collective help us achieve proper work-life balance.
