The role turns complex workflows into simple, intuitive product experiences and owns the shared design system that raises quality, improves consistency, and helps the wider Digital Products team move faster. The Product Designer directly strengthens the usability and coherence of Better Cotton's product ecosystem.\nThe Challenge\nLooking ahead to 2030, we are targeting reducing GHG emissions from cotton production by half, big cuts in synthetic pesticide use, improve soil health across our network, improve farm income and support women’s empowerment among farmers and farm workers.\nResponsibilities\nIn this role, you will be responsible for :\nConduct research with users and internal teams to understand workflows, constraints, and real operating conditions.\nChallenge unnecessary complexity and helping the team identify the simplest valuable solution.\nTurn complex processes into clear end-to-end journeys, information architecture, and product interactions, using prototypes to explore, communicate, and test solutions quickly.\nWork with Product Engineers to balance user needs, technical constraints, and organisational priorities.\nEstablish and maintain the shared design system - components, patterns, tokens, and interaction standards - ensuring it supports consistency across different products, languages, and operating contexts.\nConduct usability testing and use feedback and product data to improve designs, reviewing implemented products for usability, accessibility, and consistency, and resolving issues directly with engineers.\nUse AI and automation to improve research synthesis, prototyping, documentation, and design-system quality, while applying strong judgement to the quality of the outcome.\nWork collaboratively with the line manager to set clear, outcome-based objectives that align with function-wide and organisational goals.\nTake ownership of agreed objectives, ensuring alignment with team priorities and performance expectations.\nExperience\nthe following skills, knowledge, and experience:\nEssential\nDegree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.\n5+ years of relevant experience, with a strong track record of designing and launching digital products that users value and rely on; evidence of judgement, breadth, and delivered product quality matters more than tenure.\nExperience designing complex web or mobile products from early exploration through implementation, and simplifying complicated workflows into clear, intuitive experiences.\nExperience creating, maintaining, and evolving scalable design systems.\nExperience conducting user research and usability testing, and using prototypes to explore, communicate, and validate product decisions.\nExperience using AI tools across research, ideation, prototyping, testing, or design operations.\nExperience with agriculture, field operations, enterprise products, supply chains, multilingual interfaces, or products for users with varying digital literacy is valuable.\nFluency in written and spoken English is essential.\nDesirable\nAdvanced proficiency in Hindi, Urdu, Swahili, or other relevant languages would be an advantage.\nExpert fluency in Figma and FigJam, including advanced prototyping, component libraries, variables, and design-system management.\nExperience defining and documenting reusable components, tokens, interaction patterns, and accessibility standards.\nConfidence creating both low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes using Figma and complementary prototyping tools.\nExperience with AI-enabled research, interface-generation, and prototyping tools, with the judgement to evaluate and refine their outputs.\nFamiliarity with tools for user interviews, research synthesis, usability testing, and product analytics.\nStrong understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and component-based development in frameworks such as React.\nWhat we offer\n- Hybrid working opportunity, with the office based in Delhi.\n- The opportunity to work from anywhere in the world for up to one month per year\n- Flexible working, with core hours from 10 am to 4 pm local time\n- Continuous learning and development\n- Pension scheme\n- A generous annual leave package, including paid holiday, public holidays, additional paid days off during the festive season, study and exam days, and extra discretionary leave for life events such as family weddings or moving home\n- Enhanced parental benefits\n- The opportunity to make your mark and make a difference.\nWorking arrangements\nThe position is full-time (40 hours per week) and will be based in Delhi or Ahmedabad, requiring travel between the two.
