If you are passionate about financial wellness and are driven to solve complex problems that make saving and investing simple, this role is for you.\nAs a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, you’ll work collaboratively with our Mobile, Product, and Design functions to guide and delight our customers on their financial journey. \nThis role is based out of our NYC office. Below we've reflected the base salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Betterment’s total compensation package for employees. \nNew York City: $170000 - $195000\nThis job may also be eligible for variable compensation in the form of a company incentive bonus.\nA day in the life\nLead medium-to-large scale initiatives, partnering with teammates and adhering to software development best practices in order to ship high quality software continuously and iteratively.\nCollaborate with our Product & Design teams to build delightful experiences that help our customers save and invest. \nBalance innovation with the need to maintain application performance and security.\nHands-on experience using AI coding tools in production work, with the judgment to know when to lean on them, when to verify closely, and when to write it yourself.\nMaintain a high bar of excellence in your work quality, setting an example for and mentoring less experienced Engineers to do the same.\nCreate efficiency. Our software helps customers save time and money. We maintain it through clean code, rigorous testing and pragmatic programming\nCollaborate with purpose. You’ll work in small groups with other talented Engineers and figure out how to make Betterment’s software better.\nContribute to an environment of open communication, where engineers feel empowered to share ideas and take initiative to solve problems that contribute to achieving company objectives.\nWhat we’re looking for\nStrong experience in object-oriented programming; Ruby on Rails is preferred.
