This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career finance professional who wants to build a strong foundation in accounting through hands-on experience in an international business environment.\nAccounts Payable will be a key focus of the role, with responsibility for supporting an accurate and efficient end-to-end AP process. At the same time, the Junior Accountant will gain broader accounting experience by supporting month-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations, bank accounting, general ledger activities, and other finance processes.\nWorking closely with the EMEA Finance team, colleagues across the business, and the US Finance team, this role offers the opportunity to develop practical accounting skills, gain experience with NetSuite, and gradually take on broader accounting responsibilities.\nKey Responsibilities:\nAccounts Payable\nProcess vendor invoices accurately and timely, including coding invoices to the appropriate GL accounts, cost centers and departments.\n\nReview invoices against purchase orders and resolve PO and invoice discrepancies together with Procurement, Operations and other internal stakeholders.\n\nPrepare and process vendor payment batches in accordance with company approval procedures.\n\nAct as a point of contact for vendors regarding invoices, payments, reconciliations and disputes.\n\nReview AP balances and proactively investigate mismatches, outstanding items, refunds, credits and adjustments.\n\nMaintain accurate vendor master data and support the vendor creation and change process in the ERP system.\n\nSupport the reconciliation of the AP subledger to the general ledger.\n\nHelp ensure invoices and payments are processed in accordance with internal controls and company policies.\n\nAccounting & Month-End Close\nSupport the monthly and quarterly financial close process.\n\nPrepare selected balance sheet reconciliations under the guidance of the Accounting Manager.\n\nAssist with bank reconciliations and the recording and clearing of bank transactions.\n\nSupport month-end accruals and other recurring journal entries.\n\nAssist with the reconciliation and analysis of Goods Received / Items Received Not Billed and other AP-related balance sheet accounts.\n\nInvestigate accounting differences and follow up on outstanding reconciling items.\n\nSupport the preparation of schedules and documentation for internal and external audit requests.\n\nGain exposure to general ledger accounting and gradually take ownership of additional accounting activities as experience develops.\n\nSystems & Process Improvement\nWork primarily in NetSuite and other finance systems to maintain accurate accounting records.\n\nIdentify opportunities to improve and simplify AP and accounting processes.\n\nSupport improvements in financial workflows, controls and documentation.\n\nCollaborate with the EMEA and US Finance teams to develop consistent and efficient accounting processes.\n\nParticipate in finance projects and other accounting activities based on business needs and individual development.\n\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.\n\nApproximately 0-2 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance or accounts payable. Relevant internships or working-student experience are also valued.\n\nBasic understanding of accounting principles, including debits and credits, the general ledger, balance sheet and income statement.\n\nInterest in developing a career in accounting and willingness to learn through hands-on experience.\n\nStrong attention to detail and a structured approach to work.\n\nGood analytical and problem-solving skills.\n\nComfortable working with deadlines and managing multiple priorities.\n\nStrong communication and collaboration skills in an international environment.\n\nAbility to work both independently and as part of a team.\n\nGood knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.\n\nExperience with NetSuite or another ERP/accounting system is anadvantage butnot required.\n\nWork Environment:\nOn-site at our Amsterdam headquarters in an office environment\n\nWhat You Will Gain\nThis role is designed to provide a strong starting point for a career in accounting. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
