The Technician will work as a member of an integrated team responsible for operating and maintaining the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.\nOpen to internal and external candidates.\nJob Summary\nThe Laboratory Technical Specialist Technician will play an important role providing specialized technical, analytical, and operational support for aerospace testing facilities, research systems, or material laboratories.\nJob Duties:\nLaboratory/customer interface. \nReceive samples, ensure validity, and load pertinent information into the LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).\nMaintain filing system for Laboratory Reports of Analysis.\nProcure laboratory supplies, chemicals, gases, equipment, and materials. \nMaintain service contracts on all major laboratory instrumentation.\nServe as Primary Building Manager. Submit work requests for building, safety, and other issues. Perform monthly inspections (i.e., fire extinguishers, facility walk around).\nServe as Vehicle Control Officer (VCO).\nServe as Information Technology Equipment Coordinator (ITEC).\nServe as Anti-Terrorism Representative Assistant (ATR-A).\nMaster Work Permit Issuing Official.\nAuthorized Staples Advantage user.\nAssist with material/property inventory, to include addressing the proper disposition of excess/unused items and material.\nProficient with PC systems and office software applications, including email, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.\nAccessing OWAM & EESOH-MIS databases.\nWork closely with supervisors and our Engineers to forecast and plan our weekly schedules\nTrack all upcoming PM’s and schedule according to timelines required to complete PM’s by required date.\nOrder materials needed.\nMeet weekly with Supervisors to review schedule and update scheduled work.\nPlan for near future requirements.\nProcessing work requests and work orders.\nSubmit work requests as needed.\nSchedule off-base services to come on base to maintain area equipment.\nSubmit yearly contract renewals for software licenses.\nSchedule yearly technical courses required to maintain technical licenses for Engineers and Supervisors.\nExcess outdated/broken equipment.\nOrder and schedule installation for replacements equipment.\nSubmit and confirm all visitor requests.\nMaintain awareness of outages and/or downtimes that may impact scheduled work.\nCoordinate Outage Requests with Work Control Supervisor, Issuing Official(s), and Integrated Scheduler for work by assigned crew or for assigned systems.\nUpdate work orders and PM’s to finish/close as work is completed.\nAbility to work self-directed with limited daily oversight.\nIt is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.\nPerform other duties as required. \nBasic Qualifications:\nHigh School Diploma \nMust be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance and maintain authorized user access to the AEDC local area network.\nS.
