You'll be the first QA hire on this account, so you'll help shape how QA is done from the start. You'll work with the team's principal engineers to set the testing approach for modern web applications that are built with AI and that also have AI and agentic features inside them.\nYou'll work directly with the delivery team and the client's stakeholders, without extra layers in between. This is an individual-contributor role at first, and the account has room to grow the QA function over time.\nWhat you'll do\nDrive Quality Strategy: Define, own, and scale the overarching QA and test automation strategy for the client's applications, acting as the definitive voice of quality alongside principal engineers and product leaders.\nArchitect Automation: Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable automated test suites from scratch, primarily utilizing Playwright with TypeScript.\nPioneer AI Testing: Lead the validation strategy for applications with embedded AI and agentic functionality. Define industry-leading approaches to validate non-deterministic behaviour, evaluate output quality, and map complex failure modes.\nLeverage AI for QA: Actively utilize advanced AI tools (especially Claude Code) to accelerate test creation, develop internal tooling, and streamline defect triage.\nBuild the Framework: Architect and contribute to agentic testing frameworks and custom internal QA tooling that sets a new standard for our delivery teams.\nPipeline Integration: Engineer and oversee comprehensive API and end-to-end testing architectures seamlessly integrated into CI/CD pipelines.\nStakeholder Leadership: Confidently present test strategies, quality metrics, and risk assessments directly to senior client stakeholders, translating technical quality into business risk.\nNavigate Complexity: Ensure uncompromising quality within a strictly regulated financial setting, operating securely with access limited to code and test environments.\nRequirements\nAbout you\nProven experience as a Senior Test Engineer with a strong automated testing background\nHands-on experience testing systems that have AI or LLM features built into them.\nStrong communication skills: you can present your work and speak with confidence in front of client stakeholders.\nWillingness to stay very hands-on while also shaping ways of working.\nStrong pluses\nPlaywright (our current tool). Selenium or Cypress experience also counts.\nTypeScript and Next.js.\nClaude Code, especially in the terminal, for test and tool development.\nExperience building agentic or AI-driven testing frameworks.\nAWS, especially Docker containers on ECS Fargate.\nFintech experience, ideally in private equity or alternative assets.\nExperience working with UK or European clients in regulated industries.\nBenefits\nWe believe in supporting our team members both professionally and personally.
