You will be surrounded by people who challenge, support, and inspire you to be the best version of yourself.\nThe Role\nBeyondTrust is seeking a Sr Software Development Engineer to help build the NHI Governance domain within our Pathfinder products. You will design, build, and operate the full-stack services that power the server-side loop discover, assess, and remediate non-human identities (service accounts, workload identities, secrets and keys, and AI agents) across cloud and on-premise environments. Working across the stack - from APIs, data pipelines, and platform services through to the occasional UI surface - you will own meaningful features end to end, partner closely with senior engineers, product, and design, and deliver secure, scalable, high-quality software that solves complex identity and security challenges at scale.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDesign, build, test, and operate scalable, resilient backend services, APIs, and data pipelines across the domain.\nOwn features end to end - from design and implementation through production rollout, observability, and operational health.\nContribute across the stack where needed, integrating services with front-end workflows and other platform teams.\nParticipate in and help lead design discussions, making sound technical trade-offs for the work you own.\nReview functional and technical requirements to identify gaps, propose simplifications, and help scope and sequence work.\nUphold a high-quality bar through code review, testing, and secure development practices.\nInvestigate and resolve complex bugs and reliability issues across the services you own.\nMentor less-experienced engineers and share best practices in cloud-native development.\nWhat You’ll Bring\nStrong programming skills in one or more modern languages (C#, Go, TypeScript, Java, or similar), with solid experience designing and building APIs and microservices.\nFull-stack capability - comfortable owning backend services and able to work in a modern JavaScript/TypeScript framework when a feature calls for it, without a primary UI focus.\nHands-on, day-to-day experience using Claude Code (or comparable agentic AI coding tools) to design, build, and review software at high velocity, with the judgment to critically review what the tools produce.\nHands-on AWS experience building and operating production services (e.g., compute, IAM, managed data stores), with sound reliability and cost awareness.\nUnderstanding of CI/CD and hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).\nFamiliarity with data modeling and working with data at scale.\nSolid grasp of modern testing and observability practices in cloud environments.\nStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to make progress amid ambiguity.\nGood communication and collaboration skills across technical and cross-functional conversations.\nNice To Have\nDomain experience in identity security: IAM, NHI/Secrets, cloud IAM (AWS IAM, Microsoft Entra ID), OAuth/OIDC.\nExperience with event-driven architecture, graph data modeling, or analytics at scale.\nExperience building multi-tenant services consumed by other engineering teams.\nFamiliarity with a modern JavaScript framework (Angular, React, or Vue with TypeScript).\nWho You Are\nAn engineer who takes ownership of complex work and follows it through to production.\nA pragmatic full-stack builder who goes where the problem is.\nA bar-raiser for quality who balances technical excellence with shipping.\nA collaborator who welcomes feedback, mentors others, and shares knowledge.\nA clear communicator across technical and cross-functional discussions.\nBetter Together\nDiversity.
