The successful candidate will be responsible for the reliability of their team by operating, maintaining and repairing all plant equipment and facilities in a way that achieves high customer satisfaction. All work must be performed in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.\nTITLE\nPlant Mechanic - Cincinnati\nREPORTS TO\nArea Leader\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nPerform maintenance activities in a high-performance working environment on a shiftly basis to ensure optimum utilization of materials and manpower to maximize production, safety, quality and efficiency\nGenerate and complete work orders to ensure materials are available from the parts room. Initiate work requests when work cannot be performed immediately\nCommunicate and work with other operators, line leaders and the technical leader on maintenance issues\nPerform preventative maintenance and inspection functions and take the initiative to ensure these programs are modified and updated as needed\nParticipate in training to improve and maintain technical skills, teamwork, creativity and communication skills\nParticipate in root cause failure analysis with team members and maintenance leaders for major downtime\nActively participate in team and plant meetings and activities\nFollow all safety, housekeeping and regulatory agency requirements\nAccurately troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, coach and teach, and repair to original specifications of processing, packaging, and facility equipment\nRead and understand technical documentation including electrical and mechanical drawings\nSafely operate maintenance shop tools\nAbility to test mechanical equipment\nAll other duties as assigned\nQUALIFICATIONS\nHigh School Diploma plus two years of technical training preferred\n2-5 years maintenance experience preferred\nExcellent technical and troubleshooting skills and knowledge of all crafts, including mechanical, electrical and technical\nMachinist skills a plus\nLeadership skills including: o Conflict resolution and problem solving (analytical troubleshooting processes) o Communication (effective listening, giving and receiving feedback) o Organization and time management o Goal and priority setting o Continuous improvement o Safety mindset\nAbility to interact cross-functionally and work in a team environment\nStrong computer skills\nADDITIONAL INFORMATION\nMust be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift \nMust be willing to work additional overtime as required\nSuccessfully qualify on operational skills and function as an operator when needed\nMust adhere to the plant’s attendance policy\nBusiness need may result in long hours and weekends\nPerform the necessary physical activity for purposes of operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment including: o Climbing stairs and ladders, standing on, and moving around on platforms, equipment and concrete floors, working at elevated levels o Lift objects up to 75 pounds using proper lifting techniques o Stand and walk at minimum 70% of the time\nEqual Employment Opportunity:\nB&G Foods is an equal opportunity/affirmativeaction employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
