As an independent commercial solutions partner to pharmaceutical and life science companies, we bring together strategists, scientists, communicators, creatives, technologists, and data experts to tackle some of healthcare's most important challenges. \nOur teams work across consulting and communications to help clients shape strategy, launch innovations, engage stakeholders, and drive meaningful results throughout the product lifecycle. The work is complex, fast-moving, and deeply connected to improving lives, creating opportunities for curious minds to make a real difference every day. \nIf you're energized by collaboration, inspired by innovation, and motivated by work that matters, you'll find a place to grow, contribute, and make a meaningful impact at BGBx. \nPosition Overview\nThe Agent Fleet Architect will build the operating system for an AI-native organization.\nWe are looking for someone who sees AI differently: not as a collection of copilots, not as isolated automations, and not as a graveyard of bots. You see systems. Agents talking to agents. Tools exposing capabilities. Context flowing across the organization. Humans stepping in where they add value. Work moving automatically from trigger to outcome. You want to build the layer that makes all of this work together.\nThe mission\nWe become an AI-native organization, not a company that happens to use AI. A company designed around humans, agents and software systems working together. Our engineering teams build the foundations: APIs, data, permissions, MCPs, CLIs, knowledge, tools and reliable internal capabilities. They make the organization understandable and accessible to machines. You make it actionable. You take those capabilities and turn them into agents, fleets and workflows that actually get work done. Engineering builds the rails. You make the trains move.\nYou build fleets, not bots\nOne agent is interesting, but a hundred disconnected agents are chaos. The real opportunity is in designing how they work together.\nYou think about:\nWho does what, and in what order?\nWhat does each agent need to know?\nWhich model, agent, human or tool should handle the next step?\nHow does work move without losing context?\nHow do we build something once and make it available everywhere?\nWhat should persist, where, and for whom?\nWhat is each agent allowed to know and do?\nHow do we know what happened when something goes wrong?\nHuman-in-the-loop. Where do people add judgment instead of friction?\nYou are designing the connective tissue of the organization.\nYou care about the workflow\nYou are not impressed because an agent can perform one clever task.\nYou want the whole loop:\nA signal appears.\nAn agent understands it.\nIt gathers the right context.\nIt calls the right tools.\nIt delegates part of the job.\nAnother agent picks it up.\nA human approves something important.\nA system gets updated.\nSlack gets notified.\nThe next action happens automatically.\nThe loop closes.\nThat is what you care about. Not the demo. The workflow.\nDeep engineering underneath. Ridiculous speed on top.\nYou believe great engineering and low-code belong together. Deep engineering teams should not spend their lives building every individual automation, they should build powerful primitives: APIs. MCP servers & CLIs. Identity. Permissions. Structured data. Reusable tools. Reliable infrastructure. Then builders should be able to combine those primitives into powerful agents and workflows at extraordinary speed.\nYou understand why a low-code agent sitting on top of excellent engineering infrastructure can be more valuable than another bespoke application living in isolation. You want engineering to make more of the organization programmable. Then you want to unleash it.\nYou understand the technology\nYou are not a no-code tourist.\nYou have written code.\nYou understand software systems.\nYou can read an API spec.\nYou know what an OAuth flow is doing.\nYou can inspect a payload.\nYou understand webhooks, schemas, databases and data structures.\nYou can trace why an integration broke.\nYou can write some code when code is the right answer.\nAnd, importantly, you know when it isn't.\nYour superpower is knowing when to:code it\nconfigure it\nconnect it\ndelegate it\nor not build it at all\n\nYou are technical enough to work deeply with engineering without needing to turn every idea into an engineering project.\nYour natural habitat\nMCP.\nA2A.\nTool calling.\nAgent routing.\nAgent memory.\nMulti-agent orchestration.\nOpenClaw.\nGrok bots.\nLS Fleet.\nCrewAI.\nSlack automations.\nAPIs.\nWebooks.\nLow-code platforms.\nWhatever appeared three weeks ago that might make all of this 10x better. The exact stack will change. That does not bother you. You are interested in the architecture underneath it.\nYou think in systems\nYou open a company and see a graph.\n People.\n Knowledge.\n Tools.\n Agents.\n Permissions.\n Data.\n Systems.\n Actions.\n Workflows.\nAnd connections that should exist but don't.\nYou instinctively believe in:\nsystems over silos\nworkflows over features\ncapabilities over applications\nfleets over bots\noutcomes over demos\nYou see two systems that cannot talk to each other and it physically annoys you.\nYou probably can't help yourself\nYou don't need someone to tell you AI agents are going to matter.\nYou are already building with them.\nYou see a new model and immediately wonder what you can connect it to.\nYou sit through a manual process and redesign it in your head before the meeting ends.\nYou have prototypes nobody asked for.\nYou have diagrams that explain how six systems should really be one system.\nYou see 1,000 opportunities and your main problem is deciding which one to build first.\nYou have the curiosity of a hacker.\nThe judgment of someone who understands engineering.\nThe impatience of someone who can already see what is possible.\nIn some ways, you are an agent that escaped its own orchestration layer.\nWhat you'll actually do\nYou will:\narchitect and operate fleets of AI agents;\nconnect agents, tools, people and systems into end-to-end workflows;\nbuild with APIs, MCP, A2A, webhooks and emerging agent protocols;\ncreate low-code and no-code agents on top of robust internal capabilities;\ndesign agent routing, delegation and handoffs;\nbuild deeply into Slack and the places where work actually happens;\nturn engineering capabilities into reusable agent tools;\ncreate shared patterns rather than isolated automations;\nprototype aggressively and ship quickly;\nwork with engineering on what should become reusable infrastructure;\ndecide when an agent should act, delegate, ask or escalate;\nmake the fleet observable, understandable and increasingly autonomous;\nconstantly test new models, tools and architectures;\nand kill things that looked clever but do not actually make the company better.\nWhat this role is not\nThis is not an AI strategy role. You build.\nThis is not traditional enterprise architecture. You ship.\nThis is not a queue of automation tickets. You think beyond the individual request.\nAnd this is not a pure software engineering role.\nYou should absolutely understand engineering, but your job is to compose capabilities into working systems, not reinvent every capability from scratch.\nYou sit in the space between engineering infrastructure × agent architecture × automation× product thinking × operations. That space is where things get interesting.\nWhere we're going\nImagine an organization where:\na new capability built by engineering can immediately become available to dozens of agents.\nagents can discover and use the right tools.\ncontext moves with the work.\nsystems collaborate instead of living in silos.\nhumans are brought in for judgment, creativity and relationships - not copy-pasting information between applications.\nnew workflows can go from idea to production in hours or days.\nincreasingly complex work can be completed by fleets of specialised agents operating together.\nThat is what we want to build. Your job is to architect the fleet that makes it possible.\nSalary range: €50,000 - €70,000 per year\nWhat We Offer\nAt BGBx, we invest in our people because exceptional talent drives exceptional work. We provide a competitive rewards package designed to support your health, well-being, professional growth, and life outside of work.\nOur benefits package typically includes health care insurance, retirement plans, generous paid time off and holidays, wellness benefits, life insurance, learning and development opportunities, and other resources that support our employees throughout their careers.
