The Medical Writer is responsible for delivering high quality, scientifically rigorous content that is in line with brand strategy and objectives, while adhering to timelines and internal processes. The Medical Writer must be able to fulfill the responsibilities and demonstrate the competencies outlined below under the direct supervision of their manager or designated senior team member.\nKey Responsibilities:\nContent Development and Execution: \nConducts required research in a timely and proficient manner, utilizing the appropriate resources\nDevelops scientifically accurate, strategically aligned, grammatically correct, and impactful content, from initiation through completion, with input from manager\nAccurately and efficiently annotates content per brand style guide and AMA rules\nAssumes accountability for accuracy of work\nPlanning: \nUnderstands the product/scientific/therapeutic and competitive space and proactively provides recommendations regarding planned projects to internal team\nUnderstands the internal BGB processes and adheres to timelines and procedures, as agreed to by the cross-functional team\n Client Interface: \nActively engages in discussions with clients in a team setting\nBuilds skills/is comfortable speaking to content during client calls\nBuilds rapport with clients over time through demonstration of subject matter knowledge\nMay, at times, act as client-facing medical lead, with support from manager\nPartners with manager and Account team to provide the client with a united, organized, professional, pleasant experience on teleconferences and in person\nLocal (tri-state) client engagement travel as needed/required\nAgency Interface and Process:\nUnderstands the role of Medical within the agency and works to set appropriate expectations and operating norms within the team\nShares best practices and strategic insights within team to maximize efficiencies\nLeads by example to demonstrate efficiency, team productivity, and superior scientific quality for all deliverables\nPreferred Qualifications:\nWe’re looking for smart, talented, and driven individuals who are interested in applying their scientific training to drug development strategy and scientific knowledge exchange. We’re looking for individuals who would enjoy working on a range of projects, including traditional “left-brained” projects (complex scientific analysis) and traditional “right-brained” projects (creative, innovative communications). Our ideal candidates are detail-oriented and team-focused, with excellent interpersonal communication skills. We’re currently recruiting for:Entry-level medical writers: An MD, PharmD, PhD, or MS degree in a relevant scientific discipline is required, as well as medical writers with at least one years’ worth of experience in medical communications or related industry\n\nOur Clients & Therapeutic Areas\nOur clients include more than 20 companies across more than 48 brands. Additionally, we have regular internal meetings to make sure we’re teaching each other, including lunch ‘n’ learns, “medical buddy” programs, and outside speakers.We’ve also contracted to work with one of the nation’s top executive coaches (we share him with some of the top Fortune 500 CEOs) to provide ongoing group and one-on-one coaching.\n\nSalary Range: $70,000 - $95,000 USD\nBGB Group is headquartered in New York City, and the salary range listed reflects the expected base compensation for this role in the New York City metropolitan area. This position may be performed remotely within the United States. For candidates located outside the New York City area, compensation will be adjusted to reflect the applicable market for the employee’s primary work location.
