Responsibilities
- Perform engineering design and calculations for water and wastewater pipeline and facility projects.
- Plan and design water and wastewater conveyance systems.
- Support the planning and design of facilities, including pump stations, lift stations, and treatment plants.
- Perform pipeline hydraulic flow and pressure calculations.
- Complete pump calculations and develop system curves for pump sizing.
- Prepare Opinions ofProbable Construction Cost (OPCCs).
- Produce contract documents, including plans, specifications, and bid forms.
- Conduct site visits during design and construction to observeinstallation activities.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with project design documents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineeringfrom an ABET-accredited university.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- One to two years of relevant water and wastewater infrastructure design experience preferred.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with other design disciplines.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with CAD software, including Autodesk Civil 3D or Bentley OpenRoadsDesigner (ORD).
