As someone who has spent several years managing a Windows based environment and network infrastructure, cloud IAAS, the incumbent will understand how to assess technological risk, develop and propose a plan to move the organization forward.\nKEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nData Centre and Network Infrastructure\nDesign, install, monitor, maintain and support of all production and non-production data centre and network infrastructure.\nPlan and perform server OS and application upgrades, bug fixes, patches, backups, restores, and management of all data centre and network infrastructure.\nDevelop new system and application implementation plans, risk assessments, contingency plans, and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability.\nEnsure high availability and acceptable levels of performance of key production assets to support a 24x7 organization operating across multiple time zones.\nOversee administration of identity and access management to IT infrastructure and privileged information stores (file shares, SharePoint, Applications).\nSetup and Maintain Linux servers, including but not limited to RHEL Linux, Oracle Linux, and Rocky Linux. \nSupport Desk\nProvide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well as occasional weekend maintenance.\nServe as the Tier 2/3 escalation point for helpdesk issues supporting global locations and coordinating with 3rd party partners as required.\nParticipate in the organization’s disaster recovery plan (DRP) by developing, documenting, maintaining, and regularly testing procedures to recover key production assets.\nHandles escalation of problems forwarded by team members by direction/mentoring or by resolution. \nConfigure, help monitor and respond to incidents from our IT system monitoring tools including security event management.\nImprovement Recommendations and Best Practice\nActively participate in developing and implementing strategies to innovate, improve efficiency and effectiveness of IT processes and solutions and adherence to best practices.\nFunctional lead for all major IT.\nMaintain qualifications and continuous learning relevant to your role.\nIdentifies solutions to meet and continuously improve system performance and uptime. Recommends enhancements to meet new or changing system demands.\nEnsures server security compliance conforms to and/or exceeds industry best practices.\nIdentify user experience pain points and challenges and make recommendations process/system functionality improvements.\nEnsure knowledge-transfer is achieved by mentoring and training Systems Analyst I.\nUtilize technical skills to assist the team with Cloud infrastructure, Azure network and infrastructure work.\nActively looks for opportunities to improve system and application efficiencies.\nLeads, evaluates, determines, develops, design and actively looks for opportunities to improve and/or implement system/application efficiencies.\nDocumentation and Audit\nReviews system audit logs, documents and action events as required.\nConduct regular audits to ensure systems comply with policy and regulatory security and privacy requirements.\nEnsure knowledge base, systems and process documentation, user guides, configuration documentation and instructional manuals are maintained by the IT team.\nDevelops and maintains system-related documentation to facilitate implementation and/or adoption of system changes.\nTrack projects and system incidents through to resolution via the IT ticket tracking system and the various IT Logs.\nSystem Maintenance\nDetermines the setup, configuration and maintenance required for new and/or upgraded servers/systems/applications according to industry best practices and/or standards, and where necessary, establish database connectivity.\nPerforms ongoing system maintenance of servers including general server cleanup and system monitoring to ensure that sufficient disk space and memory exist to meet day-to-day needs of each office.\nPerform other duties as required.\nKNOWLEDGE & SKILLS\n7 to 10 years progressive Infrastructure admin experience; 3 to 5 years or more, with server/storage administration, analysis, or engineering.\nPost-Secondary education in IT or related discipline.\nAWS, Microsoft Azure, and VMware certifications preferred.\nExperience with Linux servers in virtualized environments.\nExperience with mid to large size server operations in the cloud and on premise, including daily operations and maintenance as well as project-based work such as migrations, upgrades etc.\nExperience in automation, patching, installing, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting and managing server environments.\nProficient with Windows Server including Microsoft server products such as Active Directory with multiple domain and forests, Exchange, Certificate Services, Federation Services, System Center, IIS, SQL Server.\nWorking experience with configuring and managing an enterprise class SAN / cloud storage technology.\nTechnical expertise designing, configuring and supporting messaging related systems and technologies including SMTP, DNS, message transport and mail routing.\nAbility to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple, concurrent and conflicting priorities and deadlines.\nGood verbal and written communication skills (English).\nAbility to think outside the box and beyond the current solution to identify new and improved solutions - can identify an idea logically, document the overall solution and the technology and successfully deliver the solution.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.\nExceptional and proven technical, analytical, organizational and time management skills.\nExcellent customer service skills, with a clear understanding of customer impact and business requirement.\nExtremely developed troubleshooting/problem solving skills.\nExceptionally motivated and technical individual with experience in numerous aspects of Information Technology.\nExcellent ability to utilize available tools to effectively obtain results.\nAbility to mentor Systems Analyst I as well as other team members through knowledge-transfer.\nSuperior ability to understand and incorporate new operating systems, applications, etc. from test to production environments.\nDemonstrated proficiency using Windows applications.\nTechnical writing including documentation of procedures.\nLicenses and/or Professional Accreditation\nMCSE certification.\nMS Azure Infrastructure certification.\nVMware certification.\nLinux certification.\nThis is a regular, full-time position with a salary range of $75,440 - $94,300 per annum.
