This is an ideal role for someone who wants to gain hands-on experience in corporate accounting and develop key skills in financial systems, operational process flows, account coding, and reporting.\nSkills & Competencies:\nCurrently pursuing a BA or BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\nBasic understanding of accounting principles and financial practices (GAAP).\nFamiliarity with accounting software or financial systems is a plus.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (intermediate level preferred).\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nDetail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\nAnalytical thinking skills with the ability to connect data points and identify trends.\nAbility to work independently as well as part of a team.\nAdaptability and ability to work in a dynamic, changing environment.\nPrevious internship experience in accounting or finance is a plus.\nEssential Job Functions:\nAssist in applying generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to analyze financial information and reconcile financial accounts.\nRecord check deposits and apply resident payments in financial system.\nProvide assistance in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.\nHelp prepare general and standard journal entries under supervision.\nSupport the preparation of financial and accounting reports for management.\nAssist with account reconciliations, focusing on the balance sheet accounts.\nAssist with sorting and organizing incoming mail for accounting department.\nCollaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial data.\nPerform general administrative duties related to corporate accounting tasks.\nKey Metrics & Responsibilities:\nEnsure accurate and timely execution of accounting tasks (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP.\nAssist in the coordination of quarterly reviews and testing with Corporate Accounting team.\nSupport the execution of monthly close procedures and deliverables, ensuring compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures.\nHelp maintain financial controls and ensure regulatory reporting is accurate.\nWhy work for Maymont Homes?\nOur Mission - \"We Positively Impact the Lives in the Communities We Serve.\" Every role contributes to this purpose, helping families find a place to call home while making a difference in the communities we support.\nCertified Great Place to Work® - Our people make us who we are.
