This platform underpins our ambition to become a truly data-driven business, enabling teams across Finance, Merchandising, Ecommerce, Retail, and Wholesale to make better, faster decisions. Working closely with the Data Architect / Lead, you will translate architectural designs into scalable, production-ready data solutions. You will take ownership of building high-quality data pipelines and models, ensuring our data is reliable, well-structured, and trusted across the business. This is a hands-on role where you will combine strong engineering capability with a passion for quality, performance, and continuous improvement.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nBuilding the Data Platform \nDesign and build scalable, reliable data pipelines on GCP\nIngest and integrate data from multiple source systems (e.g. OMS, ERP, eCommerce platforms)\nImplement data transformations across Bronze → Silver → Gold layers in BigQuery\nData Modelling & Structure \nDevelop high-quality, reusable data models (facts & dimensions)\nApply modelling standards defined by the Data Architect / Lead\nEnsure data is structured in a way that supports self-serve analytics and reporting Data Quality & Trust \nImplement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting\nSupport reconciliation across key systems (e.g. OMS, finance, payments)\nContribute to data contracts, lineage, and documentation to build trust in data\nTechnical Delivery & Best Practice \nTranslate architectural designs into scalable, maintainable solutions\nDrive best practices in ELT, modular transformations, and CI/CD\nPromote high standards in coding, testing, and documentation Collaboration \nWork closely with the Data Architect / Lead on solution design and platform evolution\nPartner with Data Product & Insights teams to deliver analytics-ready datasets\nCollaborate with Engineering and Integration teams to improve upstream data quality Performance & Optimisation \nOptimise BigQuery models and queries for performance and cost efficiency\nEnsure reliability and stability of data pipelines\nProactively identify and resolve bottlenecks and issues\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.\n\nRequired Skills\n\nWhat Skills You'll Need\nOverall, 6 to 9 years of experience SQL and data modelling experience\nHands-on experience with Google BigQuery in a production environment\nExperience with core Google Cloud Platform data services such as: \nDataform (or dbt equivalent)\nCloud Composer (Airflow)\nPub/Sub\nCloud Storage\nProven experience building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines\nExperience in Retail environments\nTechnical & Engineering Practices \nStrong understanding of data engineering best practices (testing, CI/CD, version control)\nExperience working within defined architectural frameworks\nAbility to balance rapid delivery with long-term maintainability\n\nPreferred Skills\n\nNice to Have \nExperience with Looker or similar BI tools\nFamiliarity with data governance and cataloging tools (e.g. Dataplex)\n\nEqual Opportunity Statement\n\nEqual Opportunity & Privacy Bhartiya Converge is an equal opportunity employer.
