Positions such as Project Manager and Sr. Construction Manager may be in your future.\nEssential Functions\nResponsible for safety and quality of work performed within the construction services team\nTracks expenditures trends and approves invoices within budgetary guidelines\nAuthorizes company expenditures related to construction activities\nHandles customer and contractor problems related to construction\nMaintains open communications with other departments\nAnalyzes needs and designs for construction projects\nEstablishes positive employee relations through effective communication and ongoing support\nProvides training and verification for staff’s written documentation of daily activities, site conditions, etc.\nDemonstrates initiative in identifying potential issues, takes steps to determine solutions, and implements selected steps \nWorks with members of the Construction Services team to address issues and tackle obstacles\nProvides occasional assistance with field tasks to support projects and address temporary needs\nLeads continuous improvement programs throughout the department\nProvides regular consultation to other members of the department\nMaintains client relationships and establishes new ones through business development activities\nEngages clients and potential clients to identify future opportunities for work\nQualifications\nExperience\n12+ years’ experience with construction inspection or construction trades\nConstruction management experience preferred\nExperience with a public agency, one of our clients or another consulting firm preferred\nPrior experience with construction inspection under state DOT requirements preferred \nSkills\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook\nDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels\nDelivers exceptional customer service\nProficient in time management and a self-starter\nHas a reliable personal vehicle that is available for daily use to travel to job sites\nPhysical working requirements:Ability to do occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.\nAble to walk up/down stairs\nAbility to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends (including overnight stays)\nSubject to outside environmental conditions occasionally\n\nEducation\nHigh School diploma or GED required \nKDOT Inspection certification required \nAdditional experience in engineering, drafting, survey, and/or construction management is a
