This role balances people leadership, delivery execution, and technical oversight, working closely with QA and other teams to continuously improve quality practices across the organization.\nThis is a hybrid remote role that requires onsite presence in Pittston, PA at least once every other month. Candidates must live within a reasonable driving distance of either the Pittston, PA or Omaha, NE BHDIC office for required onsite meetings as needed in whichever BHDIC office is local to the employee.\nJob Responsibilities\nPeople Leadership & Team Management\nLead, mentor, and develop a QA team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.\nConduct interviews, influence hiring recommendations, and actively participate in onboarding to support organizational growth.\nOwn ongoing coaching, mentoring, and support to team members, including identifying training needs, creating development plans, and promoting QA best practices and standards.\nConduct regular one-on-one meetings and annual performance reviews.\nDelivery & Agile Execution\nGuide and support team members during Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Standups, Retrospectives, and Production Releases ensuring effective participation and alignment with sprint goals.\nProvide insight into team capacity and availability to support accurate sprint planning and delivery commitments.\nActively support sprint execution by assisting with priority items and removing impediments to ensure sprint objectives are met.\nOwn regression suite for your sprint team's area of application responsibility and participate in regression execution.\nTechnical Oversight & Quality Excellence\nEnsure adherence to best practices, maintainability, and scalability as outlined by the Automation Center of Excellence.\nReview and provide feedback on pull requests to ensure test code quality, maintainability, and alignment with organizational standards.\nEnsure test automation efforts align with security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.\nProcess Improvement & Collaboration\nContinuously evaluate and enhance QA processes, practices, and standards in collaboration with other QA Team Leads.\nOversee and maintain documentation related to testing processes, procedures, tools, and standards.\nResearch, evaluate, and propose new testing tools, techniques, and approaches to improve quality, efficiency, and coverage.\nRequirements\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or equivalent relevant industry experience.\n3+ years of experience across multiple testing strategies, including system, regression, integration, compatibility, performance, and user acceptance testing within an Agile environment.\nStrong experience working with SQL, NoSQL, and other query languages.\nExcellent analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.\nPreferred Qualifications\n2+ years of people leadership experience\n3+ years of automated testing experience using frameworks and tools such as SpecFlow/Reqnroll or Playwright\nProficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as C# or Java\nExperience with commercial Property & Casualty insurance systems and products\nAbout Us\nbiBerk is where commercial insurance buyers can obtain coverage for their businesses from insurers of the Berkshire Hathaway group of Insurance Companies, one of the best capitalized insurance groups in the world. The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000 per year.
