You will work closely with the Support Services Manager and the role will support the mobilisation of new services, monitor vehicle and operational performance, review and grade key performance indicators, and drive improvements in service delivery, efficiency, compliance and fleet availability.\nKey responsibilities:\nOversee the day-to-day operation of the logistics function, managing operational escalations, vehicle breakdowns, service disruptions and route recovery arrangements to maintain service delivery. \nManage the effective routing, allocation and utilisation of the vehicle portfolio, ensuring available resources are deployed efficiently and in line with operational requirements. \nMonitor vehicle availability, condition and maintenance requirements, working closely with relevant depot, fleet and workshop teams to minimise vehicle downtime. \nWork closely with the Support Services Manager to plan and deliver new service mobilisations, ensuring that vehicle, driver, routing and operational requirements are identified and implemented effectively. \nSupport the training, coaching and development of employees where applicable, promoting consistent processes, operational standards and best practice across the business. \nEnsure that financial, compliance and health and safety considerations are incorporated into route planning, vehicle allocation and operational decision-making. \nEssential criteria for this role:\nExperience with route planning software such as Route Monkey, DPS (LogiX) etc \nExperience as a Logistics Planner/Senior Planner in a large matrix organisation \nDemonstrable experience of successful resource management / cost control \nTransport legislation \nKnowledge of existing and impending environmental and health and safety legislation environment \nBiffa - we’re changing the way people think about waste\nAt Biffa, we love working with waste.
