Where a solution is developed, it must meet Biffa’s health and safety priority with regards to its people and customers and environment. This role has scope to negotiation with regards to third party suppliers, and however is often in conjunction with the regional management.\nThis role is hands-on role involving the use of many personal skills such as relationship management, negotiation and people management. There is a need for innovative thinking and is solution driven. The ability to build key internal relationships at all levels up to Senior Management within the business across a number of departments is essential, as well as the ability to build key relationships with external organisations\nThe job requires the ability to multi task situations that are live - requiring immediate attention and the ability to deliver a first class Customer Service.\nWhy it’s an opportunity not to be wasted.\nOverseeing site adherence to key site processes relating to health and safety, security, employee relations and legislation.\nEnsuring service delivery meets defined key performance indicators whilst driving best practice and continuous improvement in cost control and productivity.\nSupervising, coaching and training the team to produce the highest levels of customer service. \nPromoting open channels of communications with all departments within the Division and the wider Biffa Business, and to proactively and consistently review all processes used by the Transfer Station.\nDefining and supports the development of the staff as a whole by identifying and sharing best practice\nManaging and ensuring compliance of Health & Safety, Environmental, Employment legislation and Company policy to ensure defined standards and best practice are adhered to.\nAgreeing, monitoring and managing the full P&L budget, delegating accountability where appropriate, supporting financial year on year growth of the depot\nWorking within cross-divisional teams to provide integrated waste solutions using best practice and through continuous improvement.\nHere’s what we require:\nCOTC\nIOSH Certificate\nExperience as Operations Manager or position of similar responsibility in Services or Logistics industry\nPeople and health & safety management in a unionised environment\nProven track record of working to clearly defined service delivery KPI’s\nProven track record of delivering continuous improvement within an operational / service environment\nP&L experience - Ideally\nGood transport / logistics knowledge\nBiffa - we’re changing the way people think about waste\nAt Biffa, we love working with waste.
