The role ensures that all works are delivered in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications, maintaining full traceability from material receipt through to final handover documentation. Operating within a highly regulated environment, the Quality Engineer provides governance over documentation, supports technical interpretation of requirements, and ensures that quality records accurately reflect the as-built condition of the works\nMain Responsibilities\nImplement and maintain quality processes in line with RCC-M, EN ISO 3834-2, and project-specific specifications.\nProvide oversight of quality compliance across fabrication, installation, and testing activities.\nConduct audits, surveillance, and process reviews to ensure adherence to approved procedures.\nDocumentation Control & Traceability\nManage and control QA documentation including:\nFollow-Up Documents (FUDs)\nNon-Conformance Reports (NCRs)\nRequests for Information (RFIs)\nLifetime Quality Records (LTQRs)\nEnsure all documentation maintains the golden thread of traceability from design through to installation and testing.\nMaintain QA registers and trackers, ensuring accuracy and real-time status visibility.\nFUD & Work Pack Integration\nLead the preparation, review, and issue of FUDs, ensuring:\nAlignment with scope and test limits\nClear inspection and acceptance criteria\nCompliance with applicable codes and client requirements\nSupport integration of FUDs within Construction Work Packs (CWPs) and LTQR structure.\nNon-Conformance Management\nAdminister the NCR process end-to-end:\nInitiation and classification\nRoot cause analysis\nDefinition and implementation of corrective actions\nClose-out and lessons learned\nEnsure timely escalation of quality issues and effective resolution with stakeholders.\n\nTechnical Support & Interpretation\nSupport project teams in interpreting codes, standards, and specifications.\nProvide guidance on quality requirements related to welding, NDT, fabrication, and installation.\nEnsure consistent application of requirements across all work fronts.\nInterface & Coordination\nCoordinate RFIs and ensure timely responses from engineering and client stakeholders.\nLiaise with QC Engineers and inspectors to ensure inspection outcomes are captured within QA systems.\nInterface with engineering, construction, and client representatives to maintain alignment on quality expectations.\n\nHealth, Safety & Culture\nPromote and support a strong HSE culture within all QA activities.\nEnsure quality processes reinforce safe and compliant working practices.\nAny other reasonable tasks as requested by the line manager\nExperience & Qualifications\nMandatory\nExperience in QA engineering or quality management roles on large construction projects.\nProven track record managing FUDs, NCRs, RFIs, and quality documentation in a regulated environment.\nExperience in nuclear, oil & gas, or similarly high-integrity industries.\nFamiliarity with ISO 9001, RCC-M, and nuclear QA frameworks.\nDegree/ONC/HNC or equivalent in Engineering, Quality, or related field (preferred).\nProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and document management systems (Teamcenter, SharePoint, Proarc, SOMINS).\nCSWIP Level 3.1 / 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector\nCCNSG\nExperience and Qualifications- Desirable\nStrong background in document control, traceability, and LTQR compilation.\nUnderstanding of and familiarity with pipe standards and specifications\nRadiographic interpretation\nComputer literate; knowledge of Microsoft Office suite essential\nUnderstanding of fabrication, welding and NDT techniques\nGood communication and report writing skills\nISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification\nMember of Chartered Quality Institute\nExcellent organisational and analytical skills.\nStrong written and verbal communication.\nIf you have any questions please contact Carla Yvonne Bowman ().\nBilfinger is an equal opportunity employer.
