This role will be based on site Monday to Friday 40 hours a week\nWelding Engineering & Technical Support\nProvide technical oversight for all welding activities related to pipework installation.\n\nEnsure welding operations are performed in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and project requirements.\n\nProvide technical guidance to welding supervisors, inspectors, and site teams.\n\nSupport the resolution of welding-related technical issues during construction.\n\nReview and interpret technical drawings, weld maps, and welding requirements.\n\nAttend training & education events including seminar to understand the latest developments in welding to apply to the project\n\nCompletes any other duties as assigned by the Senior Welding Engineer\n\nWelding Procedure Development & Qualification\nSupport the development, review, and approval of welding procedures (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).\n\nTest pieces procurement & machining, technique development, PWHT & Mechanical testing\n\nEnsure welding procedures meet applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.\n\nCoordinate welding procedure qualification testing where required.\n\nMaintain records of approved welding procedures and ensure they are correctly implemented on site.\n\nImplementing new technology/welding processes to aid in improving production\n\nQuality Assurance & Weld Control\nEnsure welding activities comply with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and project quality requirements.\n\nMonitor weld quality performance including weld rejection rates and defect trends.\n\nSupport the investigation and resolution of welding defects and non-conformances.\n\nWork closely with QA/QC inspectors to ensure proper inspection and testing of welds.\n\nSupporting production to resolve welding issues\n\nPerformance of weld investigations\n\nMaterials & Metallurgy Control\nEnsure correct welding consumables and materials are used in accordance with approved procedures.\n\nProvide technical advice regarding material compatibility, preheat requirements, and heat treatment where applicable.\n\nSupport control of welding consumables including storage, handling, and traceability.\n\nInvolved in the evaluation of materials and problem-solving techniques to overcome issues with the design drawings or work pack requirements\n\nConstruction & Installation Support\nProvide welding engineering support to construction teams during installation activities.\n\nEnsure welding operations are effectively integrated with construction sequencing and site operations.\n\nAssist site in resolving technical installation issues related to welding.\n\nOverseeing the machinery used by the welding team including calibration, testing the performance and condition of installed mechanical equipment.\n\nHealth, Safety & Environmental Compliance\nPromote safe welding practices in accordance with project health and safety procedures.\n\nEnsure compliance with site safety standards including hot work requirements and permit systems.\n\nParticipate in safety briefings, inspections, and incident investigations where required.\n\nPerformance Monitoring & Reporting\nMonitor welding productivity and performance metrics.\n\nAnalyse welding data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.\n\nProvide technical input into project progress reports.\n\nMaintain records relating to welding performance, inspection results, and defect analysis.\n\nStakeholder & Interface Management\nWork closely with construction supervisors, QA/QC inspectors, planners, and logistics teams.\n\nLiaise with client representatives and third-party inspectors regarding welding activities and compliance.\n\nSupport coordination between engineering, construction, and quality teams.\n\nKey Deliverables\n\nCompliance of welding activities with approved procedures and project standards.\n\nPreparation of technical welding engineering documentation\n\nEffective resolution of welding technical issues.\n\nSupport for mechanical completion and system handover.\n\nKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)\n\nWeld rejection and defect rates.\n\nCompliance with welding procedures and inspection requirements.\n\nTimely completion of welding documentation and traceability records.\n\nContribution to programme milestones and
