This role provides hands-on support for equity operations, stock-based compensation accounting, compliance, reporting, and employee communications. The ideal candidate will partner closely with Legal, Payroll, Accounting, People Operations, and external service providers to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely execution of all equity-related activities. This position will report to the Company’s Controller.\nResponsibilities:\nEquity Administration and Operations\nMaintain accurate equity data and records within equity administration systems and administer equity plan across the full equity lifecycle.\nManage the end-to-end processing of equity transactions (grants, vesting, releases, exercises, cancellations, etc.) in the equity system.\nCoordinate Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) enrollment and purchase cycles and ensure accurate processing and reconciliations in collaboration with Payroll and Fidelity Equity system.\nCompliance and Reporting\nMaintain and reconcile equity share pool balances; perform monthly reconciliations of shares outstanding and reserves with the transfer agent.\nAssist with equity plan setup, maintenance, and governance.\nMaintain accurate records and equity reconciliations and documentation to support internal/external audit readiness.\nAnalyze and reconcile equity data, perform audits, and prepare / review all month-end journal entries.\nSupport period-end close activities including stock-based compensation (SBC) accounting in accordance with ASC 718 and completing monthly and quarterly stock-based compensation close processes, ensuring accuracy in journal entries, accruals, and disclosures.\nResponsible for compliance with year end tax reporting requirements.\nCollaboration with Business Partners\nPartner with Legal, Payroll, Accounting, and PeopleOps teams to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely execution of equity processes.\nAssist Payroll teams with equity reporting, tax compliance and reconciliation activities.\nRespond to employee inquiries regarding equity awards, vesting schedules, exercises, and taxation.\nAudit and SOX Compliance\nMaintain accurate records and documentation to support audit readiness.\nMaintain SOX control documentation and perform assigned internal controls documentation to support SOX compliance.\nRespond to auditor requests inquiries in a timely manner.\nProcess Improvement\nDocument processes, SOX narratives and support continuous improvement initiatives.\nIdentify opportunities to enhance equity processes and systems through integration and automation, improved controls, and workflow changes.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Business Administration, Finance, Accounting - plus)\n5+ years of hands-on experience in equity compensation within a public company\nIn-depth knowledge of equity platforms such as Fidelity Plan Sponsor Webstation® (or equivalent systems) and managing platform processes end-to-end\nStrong understanding and experience of multiple types of equity (ISOs, NSOs, RSUs, ESPP) and related compliance, tax, and reporting requirements\nStrong experience supporting internal/external audits and ensuring compliance with SOX and ASC 718\nExperience managing complex reconciliations, close processes, and equity-related financial reporting\nStrong organization, analysis, and communication skills\nAbility to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint\nCEP certification or progress toward certification is a plus\nBenefits And Perks:\nWorking alongside brilliant, kind, passionate and dedicated colleagues, in an empowering environment, toward a global vision, striving for a future in which transformative molecular diagnostics can help millions of patients\nOpen, transparent culture that includes weekly Town Hall meetings\nThe ability to indirectly or directly change the lives of hundreds of thousands patients\nMultiple medical benefit options; employee premiums paid 100% of select plans, dependents covered up to 80%\nExtremely generous Family Bonding Leave for eligible employees (16 weeks, paid at 100%)\nSupplemental fertility benefits coverage\nRetirement savings program including a 4% Company match\nIncrease paid time off with increased tenure\nLatest and greatest hardware (laptop, lab equipment, facilities)\nFree daily on-site lunches provided from top eateries\nA variety of perks on campus (state of the art gym, restaurant)\nFree on-site EV charging (compatible with all EVs, including Tesla)\nAt BillionToOne, we are proud to offer a combination of a (1) base pay range (actual amount offered is based on experience and salary/equity options split that the candidate chooses), (2) generous equity options offering, (3) corporate bonus program, on top of (4) industry leading company benefits (free healthcare options, 401k match, very generous fully paid parental leave, etc.).\nThe base salary range for this role is $174,068 - $195,826.
