Must be able to compute, classify, record, and verify financial data to support accurate and timely financial reporting. Employees in this job function are expected to master understanding and execution of transactions independently, without guidance or assistance.\n*United States GAAP experience is crucial for this role.\nJob Duties\nThe Accounting Supervisor should be confident in executing the following tasks independently, with limited guidance. They should be aware of timing requirements of department duties and have internal and external networking skills with various stakeholders.\nTasks and Responsibilities:\nPosting accrual and prepayment journal entries including documentation.\n\nPrepare the budget/forecast cycle.\n\nTreasury management, discrepancy resolution and follow up.\n\nProcess and report monthly commission payments.\n\nBalance sheet reconciliations.\n\nValidating and updating deferral and amortization schedules.\n\nAd hoc reporting and other duties as assigned.\n\nKnowledge Milestones:\nMaintain documentation for all balance sheet activity and correspondence in an organized manner.\n\nPrepare and assist in the preparation month end closing checklist.\n\nAble to budget and forecast.\n\nReview expense submissions for expense coding and process reimbursements.\n\nPerform ad hoc reporting and requests for internal stakeholders.\n\nLocal Tax compliances, both Direct and Indirect\n\nSoft Skills\nExpress ideas and thoughts verbally and in written form.\n\nExhibits good listening and comprehension.\n\nProactive with problem solving skills\n\nWrites clearly and informatively.\n\nContributes to building a positive team spirit.\n\nEducation & Experience\nPreferably a CA or Masters Degree in Accounting with at least 2+ years of experience in managing a team. Advertising media experience is a plus.\nExposure to US companies will be an advantage.\nLanguage Skills\nAbility to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence using professional vocabulary and industry terminology. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.\nMathematical Skills\nAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra. Must be proficient in excel. VLOOKUP’s, Pivot tables and complicated calculations.\nComputer Skills\nThe job requires specialized computer skills. Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicating by email and using scheduling software.
