This position involves assisting with various tasks related to tree care under the direction of the Manager and Crew Leader. This position handles lowering and rigging lines, operates chainsaws, and utilizes other equipment as directed. Maintaining a commitment to excellence in workmanship is essential, as the Arborist I serves as a representative of the Biltmore Company and must uphold a professional image while providing general support and assistance to the department, leadership, and company as a whole.\nEssential Job Duties\n1. Operates hand tools, chainsaws, tractors, loaders, grapples, winches, chippers, stump cutters, skid steers, and other arborists vehicles and equipment as directed in a safe and responsible manner.\n2. Performs worksite setup and traffic control\n3. Maintains and keeps track of tools and equipment, ensuring that all equipment and keys are properly stored and secured at day's end.\n4. Assists in preparing equipment and materials needed for the day's work as directed by the crew leader and/or manager\n5. Performs housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, uncluttered, and safe work environment.\n6. Ability to perform and assist with an aerial rescue\n7. May operate aerial lift as directed \n8. Available for nights, weekends, and holidays as determined by Arborist Manager\nQualifications\n1. High School diploma or GED required. Additional education, training, and/or certifications strongly preferred\n2. A minimum of two (2) years of arboriculture or related experience.\n3. Must have basic tree identification skills\n4. Proficiency in tree removal with ropes, knots, and rigging\n5. Ability to use a chainsaw, chipper, skid steer, loader, aerial lift, and other equipment\n6. Familiarity with ANSI Z133 and A300 standards\n7. Must be at least 21 years old\nRequired Certifications (if any): \n8. CPR and First Aid certification or the ability to get certification within 2 months\n9. NC Commercial Driver License Class A or B (or obtain in 6 months)\nPhysical Requirements\n1. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time; must be able to kneel, stoop, bend, reach below and overhead\n2. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis\n3. Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding as needed.\n4. Ability to safely operate small equipment and machinery (e.g. edgers, mowers, etc.)\n5.
