The server is responsible for an in-depth knowledge of all food and beverages offered by the hotel and an adherence to the service sequence as outlined in the Biltmore standards of operation procedures (BSOP’S). The server must be enthusiastic about the position and maintain a positive attitude toward both the guest and other staff members of the hotel.\nResponsibilities\nProviding the highest levels of professionalism and enthusiasm to guests, and co-workers.\nComplete knowledge of use and care of Point of Sale and timekeeping systems.\nCompletion of all assigned opening and closing tasks pertinent to the server position.\nAssist co-workers in the performance of their responsibilities when necessary.\nMaintenance of the highest levels of sanitation and safety in the workplace.\nKnowledge of location and requisitioning of all necessary products and supplies.\nKnowledge of bar and dining area seating charts.\nComplete familiarity with liquor and wine selection, pricing and preparation.\nComplete familiarity with all menu item preparations and presentation.\nKnowledge of and adherence to proper I.D procedures.\nAdherence to service standards as outlined in BSOP’s.\nDaily reconciliation of sales and credit information.\nDeclaration of earned gratuities in accordance with current governmental requirements.\nImmediate notification of a manager in the event of a problem, or the perception of a problem.\nRequirements\nExperience and Education Required\nEducation\nHigh School Diploma is required\nExperience\nMinimum two years’ experience in a high volume restaurant is required\nSkills Required\nMust be able to:\nSpeak, read, write and understand the English language.\nCompute accurate mathematical calculations.\nProvide legible communication and directions.\nPerform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.\nPrioritize and organize.\nThink clearly, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.\nFollow directions thoroughly.\nUnderstand guest’s service needs.\nWork cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.\nWork with minimal supervision.\nMaintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent resort data.\nUse a computer keyboard and possess basic typing skills.\nPossess moderate to advanced computer skills.\nWork in a dynamic and constantly changing environment.\nAdept to multitasking.\nPhysical Demands\nMust be able to:\nMove, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.\nStand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.\nReach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.\nUse, carry, and operate all necessary office equipment using finger dexterity.\nCommunicate with employees, managers, subordinates and guests through verbal communication, hearing ability, and visual acuity.\nVisually look at a computer for extended periods of time.\nAdapt to moderate temperatures in the hotel as thermostat is controlled by hotel environmental systems.
