The Senior Internal Auditor - LATAM Lead will own the regional audit plan and risk assessment, lead end-to-end engagements across financial crime compliance and regulatory matters, and act as the primary Internal Audit point of contact for regional stakeholders, regulators and external assurance providers. The role requires strong technical grounding in AML/CFT, sanctions and virtual asset regulatory frameworks, and offers the opportunity to shape Internal Audit’s coverage of one of the fastest-evolving regulatory environments in the business.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nAct as Internal Audit’s regional lead for LATAM, owning the regional audit plan, risk assessment and coverage of regulatory and financial crime risks.\nLead end-to-end audit engagements across financial crime compliance (AML/CFT, sanctions, KYC/CDD, transaction monitoring, screening, suspicious activity reporting) and broader regulatory compliance.\nAssess the design and operating effectiveness of controls against local AML and virtual asset requirements, group standards and applicable international expectations.\nMaintain a current view of the LATAM regulatory landscape, including licensing requirements, virtual asset rules and AML/CFT expectations, and translate it into audit coverage and actionable risk assessments.\nPrepare clear, well-structured audit documentation, including process narratives, risk and control matrices, testing workpapers, and issue summaries.\nIdentify control gaps, root causes, and improvement opportunities, and formulate practical audit observations and recommendations.\nTrack, validate, and follow up on remediation actions, including actions arising from regulatory inspections and external reviews.\nBuild and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders across compliance, legal, risk and the business in the region, and represent Internal Audit in regulatory and governance forums.\nSupport global thematic audits and regulatory mapping exercises, and contribute to Internal Audit automation and data analytics initiatives.\nWhat We’re Looking For:\nRelevant experience gained in internal audit, compliance monitoring and testing, regulatory compliance or risk assurance, preferably within financial services, fintech, or another regulated industry.\nAt least 5 years of relevant experience, with a track record of leading audit or review engagements end-to-end.\nStrong technical knowledge of financial crime compliance, including AML/CFT, sanctions, KYC/CDD, transaction monitoring, screening and suspicious activity reporting.\nPractical knowledge of the local AML and virtual asset regulatory framework in Brazil and/or other LATAM jurisdictions is a strong advantage.\nExperience assessing control design and operating effectiveness, and of testing against regulatory requirements.\nAbility to conduct structured stakeholder interviews and analyse processes with a risk and control mindset.\nStrong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate credibly with senior management and regulators in the region.\nStrong attention to detail and ability to prepare high-quality audit documentation, including written descriptions, flowcharts, and supporting evidence.\nAbility to work effectively under time constraints, manage multiple priorities, and operate with limited information in a fast-changing environment.\nFlexibility to adjust working hours to accommodate different time zones.\nProfessional certification (CIA, CAMS, CRMA or equivalent) would be an advantage.\nExperience with digital assets, crypto exchanges or virtual asset service providers would be an advantage.\nWhy Binance\nShape the future of finance \nCollaborate with world-class talent in a user-centric global organization with a flat structure\nTackle challenging projects in a fast-paced and innovative enviornment with autonomy\nThrive in a results-driven workplace with opportunities for career growth and continuous learning\nCompetitive salary and company benefits\nRemote-first, work-from-home arrangement (may vary depending on the nature of the role and team)\nBinance is committed to being an equal opportunity employer.
